Surprising night at BWW in Derby, KS last night. We we celebrating my boyfriends birthday at a place we have been many times in the past. Told our server exactly that when she took our drink and appetizer order. The night started out good but turned dramatically for the bad within 30 min.
We both ordered 6 PC traditional wings with honey BBQ- mine with celery and his with carrots. My order was written down by our server first. Within 5-10 minutes his meal arrives at the table. 15 minutes after his arrives, mine still hasn't been delivered. I flag our server and she tells me orders go in separately and it's not uncommon for them to come out separately. I ask is 15 min normal? 20 minutes later mine still hasn't arrived, I ask a passing server for the manager. This is where the night turns bad.
Manager comes to the table and I share we are celebrating my partners birthday and we have not received my order 20 minutes after the first one arrives (there are only 2 of us at the table, it's not a big order). Manager says tickets for tables are not entered together but each one is separate ... that this problem is "above her pay grade." If we wanted food delivered for us both to eat at the same time, I should have "requested" food come out together. I feel scolded for not requesting at time of order that I wanted to eat with my guest, but who would have thought that necessary?
I have never eaten at a restaurant where you have to request food come out together at a table, and it seems strange for a party of 2. I wonder what the condition of my partners food would have been if it had been held under a warmer for the full 25 minutes mine took to deliver (after his was brought to our table).
I have a couple big problems with our BWW night. 1. Our poor server was not supported by her manager who told us managing her kitchen and orders were "above her pay grade." And 2. If you want to have dinner with your tablemates at this location, you have to ask to do so in advance... keeping in mind one of your orders will not be fresh but kept under a warmer for an extended period of time.
I have waited to post this. I tried to request to speak with a general manager, but was told there wasn't one and I completed an online survey that asked for a return call (which I haven't received from BWW). This only leaves me with posting my experience and hoping others don't have the same experience, but I'm...
Read moreThis location needs leadership, service and presentation needs improvement. We visited at 11pm to avoid the dinner rush on 4/11.
After getting seated, we sat there over 5 minutes, no server ever acknowledged us, they were just minding their own business, without a care in the world. We sat on the dining side, not the bar side, half the tables were empty, I counted 3 servers. We sat at one of the middle tables, we were invisible, being out in the open I guess. Finally after 8-10 minutes, I flagged someone down.
Kadin ended up being that person. We ordered 15 wings BOGO, so 30 total. 5 different flavors from extreme Blazing to sweet Honey BBQ, when we got the platter, none of the wings were marked, they were just piled on top of each other, we had no idea which were which.
After getting the food, we had to flag Kadin down again for utensils and napkins, we were assuming she would’ve thought to bring us a couple plates at this point too, but she didn’t, so we just ate off the platter. Two of us accidentally ate a blazing wing and depleted our water. We never ate anymore after that. We sat for a few more minutes, before flagging Kadin down for the check. You would’ve figured she would have the decency to refill our waters, but she didn’t bother asking.
5 minutes after receiving the check and waiting for her return, I just took it upon myself to pay at the counter. The server Jacqueline said I’d have to wait for Kadin to pay, I told her over half our visit was waiting.
Whatever happened to a manager greeting each table and seeing how we were doing and thanking for the business? Does BWW not do this anymore?
Kadin was the absolute worst and laziest server we ever encountered, she never did credit my BWW reward points, after I gave her my number to do so. Although she didn’t deserve much of a tip for her poor service and performance, we still left her $5 (about 30%)
We will continue to order BWW, as their wings are the best. We will choose a different location or just order pick up from Derby location...
Read moreTook my family out for dinner on Saturday night - the place was super busy, so we expected a wait and were fine with that. We even overlooked the fact that the floors under our booth were disgusting with old food/dirty napkins and just sat down withot complaining. Our order came out wrong, no biggie - mistakes happen - the waitress told us she would comp the mistake bas she was the one that made it, since we ordered a patty melt and a BLT but they brought us 2 patty melts; The patty melt arrived missing the grilled onions and no sauce, but I ate it as-is. My wife ordered a BLT and when her order arrived, they gave her toasted bread with burnt bacon on it, no Lettuce, no tomato, no sauce and the bread was rock. hard. We told the waitress that the sandwich was missing the L and T and she just stared at us. We asked politely if they could bring out the lettuce and tomato and we would be fine with that, she said very sarcastically "I would love to do that for you". We decided not to fuss about it since she told us it was being comped anyway, except when we got our meal, the ticket it included all meals. My husband asked the waitress about comping the order and she said "Oh did someone tell you that?". Yeah, you did - she said it was a misunderstanding, that she only meant she was swapping the patty melt for the BLT on the ticket. Worst experience by far with bad food and...
