Salon 14 North — Local services in Haddonfield

I’ve never posted a business review and wouldn’t have predicted I would for this business. I don’t believe in dwelling in negativity either. However, I was reminded this platform exists to hopefully help others from similar experiences & for that I was convinced to submit this post. It is important to start by noting that I was a client of Stephanie’s and believe she was the best colorist I’ve ever had. Unfortunately, she does not work on Fridays, therefore I could not book a prom formal updo for my daughter. I was offered to book with Bridget, who’s also colored my hair in the past and felt that would be fine- especially since my daughter was only interested in the popular twisted sides into a pinned-up hair in the lower nape of her neck style. We arrived 10min early for the appointment with her hair being cleaned and blown out. For context, my daughter has long, straight hair and does not believe in using any hair styling products on a regular basis. When seated she explained to Bridget her requested style, showed a few inspo pics and was told she needed to have her hair washed and blown out as that was her process. I proceeded to sit down beyond checkout to make work phone calls. I checked in when called upon with progress after nearly an hour for her only the twists to be completed, very uneven, with no smoothing in the back and pins exposed everywhere. I hoped the style would come together and returned to the front. When she was told it was complete I was over to take a photo/video for her view. Video & photo attached. Bridget had stepped away to attend to her next client that had arrived. When she returned, I told her that it did not look good and pointed out areas of concern, and that it looked messy. To which she turned to me and said “It’s supposed to be messy, Sara!” Followed up with asking what she was supposed to do as her next client has been waiting for 45min. Meanwhile Stylist Felicia chimed in from her adjacent station to remind her to take a photo for her socials. We stood there in shock. My daughter asked what we were supposed to do. I assured her I would salvage it and we proceeded to check out. Owner, Tammy, was at the desk to let me know the fee would be $85. I continued to say that I couldn’t believe we were being sent out of the salon in this manner. Which is the point of this review. Everyone is entitled to a bad day. We’re all human. While I am not in the industry, I do believe stylists should know their capabilities, owners should schedule time accordingly and coworkers should help their fellow stylists when floundering by supporting the client- not gassing them up erroneously. Clients schedule formal styles and pay for expertise to ease stress on the day of an event. Instead, my daughter endured unnecessary stress & was late to her pre-prom. No one deserves...

I usually don’t post reviews at all but I saw a negative review and I felt the need to share my personal experience. I’ve been going to Bridget for alittle over a year now and I will definitely be sticking with her as my stylist for the remainder of my life 🤣 when it comes to color or highlights , I’ve never had a hair stylist get to the root without having to touch my scalp. I thought it was just how the hair industry was. But Bridget is the only person who I can trust to get to my root every time. Now from my experience at other salons you will have someone that is good at coloring but not so good at other things. But I can say whole heartedly that Bridget not only delivers a great highlight or color but afterwards I know I am going to look amazing after the fact. Me and my husband go to Bridget and we are both completely satisfied with the results every time. Now lord knows I don’t want everyone booking with her because then I may have to book in advance to get an appointment but I thought I would just share my experience. (This is for educational purposes only. Don’t go flooding her book now🤫. Best hair salon in New Jersey!!! Staff is very professional and friendly. Stephanie is beyond AMAZING!!! She did my hair (haircolor, highlights, haircut and blow dry). She is very Professional, friendly, knowledgeable, great listener, just to name a few, but list goes on and on. She goes above and beyond to to get the best results for your hair. She even accomodated a hair consultation for me via Zoom. Salon 14 is the best high-end salon in New Jersey, and take it from someone that has been to a lot of high-end salons. I dont write reviews, but I had to write this one, because thanks to a review I found this great hair salon. Stephanie did magic on my hair, I can't recommend her enough.
