Stumbled into this little treasure. Love all the nostalgic candies. Photos are from several years ago so the store has been update and doesnât look the same. Not better or worse, just different. Staff was nice. I I went on a late closing Saturday nite two weeks before 2023 Christmas and three days into Hanukkah. My biggest surprise was the two dogs in a candy store? They barked a bit and one growled, especially at the kids. I petted both, and purposely went near the growling dog while a small child approached. He wasnât aggressive and moved back while growling. Happened three different times while I was shopping. So wasnât a one time thing toâ oneâ person, family or child. Just mentioning it as really young kids can unsettle tiny dogs, and the reality is that any dog can bite regardless of its history. So avoid f you have small children who are spooked or may spook small dogs. Not sure the wisdom of allowing two barkers in there in the first place butâŠ.lThe other worry was the glass lids on lots of bottles very accessible to small children. One poor grandmother was talking to her 5-6 year old grandson as he was all over the place, ( after all it IS a candy store) and within that minute, her 2 year old grand daughter was trying to open one of the glass tops. Aside from those two concerns, I bought a ton of Christmas stocking stuff, and can see NO issues with the quality of anything. One reviewer mentioned â bigsâ inside chocolate covered pretzels, which is something not even sold in the store. As mentioned this review is from 12-23. Most others from several years ago. Note on Parking: Street is metered like most towns with stores along main streets, and is busy during the day, again like most towns. However, itâs free after 5:00 and free on weekends and FREE during the entire Christmas season. Also, There is a large parking lot behind the dinosaur which is why I checked, lots of...
Read moreWas looking for a good candy shop (looking for a specific kind of jelly bean... web-site pictures alluded to a possibility they have it) and the shop's location requires you pay for street parking on certain days (open tues - sat, same hours). Went there (tuesday) during operating hours which were 12pm - 5pm and paid my parking hoping to get there before busy hours. Got there at 2pm, reached the door within 3 min from parking with only 12 min on the parking timer (9 min left but I knew what i wanted) and door sign says closed.
Big let down as I've been trying to find this particular candy I had 1+ decade ago here and I'm confident they have it. (Other "candy shops" in the area do more pastries than actual candy.. don't care to drive miles for candy..)
Stick to the hours you posted, that'd be nice. You've only got 5 hours open to the...
