I've been here many times & usually a great experience. Most employees are very friendly & always great items from clothing, books, shoes, to house wares + more! I came here about a year ago to see if they had any vacuum cleaners, after mine broke. They had a few & prices were very reasonable. I asked a male staff member whether he knew if any of them worked, and he allowed me to plug them in to see for myself. I ended up getting a great, name brand vacuum, for only around $10 that still works well (bagless model). They had others too that looked nice, Hoover, Kenmore, just to name a few. I have found lots of nice clothing here, many good brands such as American Eagle, Old Navy, Banana Republic, Hollister, Calvin Klein, Nike & more! Also cute clothes for kids, Children's Place, Baby Gap, Justice, Carter's. (update: I'm amazed & shocked that other reviews complained about the clothing not all being washed. Hello, you're buying second hand attire at very low costs, and it's a thrift store, so stop complaining! Even if you must go to a laundromat, it's still cheaper than purchasing brand new items any day. Also, the person who said $13 for a long sleeved top/sweater was expensive must not have been to a mall lately, or even a local department store like Walmart! Most clothes now are at least $20+ no matter where you buy. You won't find value like Sally's elsewhere. Even Goodwill is much more expensive & other thrift shops. Plus Salvation Army often has name brand & designer clothing as well in good to...
Read moreThis Salvation Army location is a true treasure trove and an anchor in my Western Mass experience. The store is spacious with a fantastic variety of items—clothes, bags, art, books, home goods—you name it. Every visit feels like there's at least one surprise deal waiting for you, and often, you’ll witness other shoppers scoring jaw-dropping finds too. Thrift shopping is absolutely a skill, and this place really rewards that patience and intuition.
Whether I leave with one item or many, I always walk out with something special. The selection is diverse and ever-changing, and the prices are more than fair—especially with the extra discounts they offer. Staff are consistently kind and efficient, often surprising me (and my ultra-frugal mother) with extra savings. They’re also wonderfully considerate of Veterans and Elders, offering respectful, helpful discounts.
The store can get crowded during peak hours, so if you’re someone who likes to wander in peace, I’d suggest going at quieter times. I think there are five fitting rooms, and while there’s occasionally a short wait, most of the time they’re readily available and easy to use.
Salvation Army has become more than just a place to shop—it’s a part of my life here. A place of hidden gems, good energy, and constant return. Thank you for making thrift shopping feel like an adventure,...
Read moreSomeone who later identified himself as the store manager knocked on dressing rooms, and despite people saying they were in there, he unlocked and open the doors on them anyway. He did it to my ten year old, and I thought it was an accident, then I witnessed him do it to 2 other women before I confronted him. He laughed about it, so I told 2 other employees on the floor and 2 cashiers. Two employees argued with me and claimed he's just doing his job and that I was overreacting. One cashier expressed concern, but was encouraged to ignore me as to not draw attention. The store was disgusting, the clothes have tags stapled carelessly on them, and much of the clothes and footwear was grossly stained/torn/damaged (I'm not talking $1 items... absolutely disgusting shoes selling for $10-15). This used to be a great store and I was, and still am, upset that I drove nearly an hour to have my daughter be embarrassed in such a way. No apology, no plan for change, just a terrible group of employees who don't respect the right to privacy while changing behind a LOCKED DOOR. I'm sorry for the kind cashier who works in that environment; I can't imagine. This happened...
