Harbor Freight is pretty great. I’ve only ever been to this particular location so I don’t have any basis for comparison. Everything is absurdly cheap and the quality is usually pretty good, and even when it isn’t, it’s cheap enough that when it breaks it’s not a big deal to buy another one. I have noticed that the things they make that are really good also tend to be excluded from the general % off coupons, so I’ve been burned a few times trying to buy things only to find out it’s excluded. The staff is helpful but the checkout process can be agonizing, they have so many coupons and sometimes you get stuck behind a mouth breather who doesn’t start looking for the coupons that apply to the things he’s buying until it’s time to cash out. The cashier will have to stand there while the customer rifles through the 40 page book looking for coupons that might work with the order and trying them. Meanwhile, one other line is moving at lightning speed while another moves at a glacial pace since the cashier decides to give the full extended warranty speech for each possible item despite the customer clearly having zero interest. Then the coupon goober in front of you finally finishes up and then the cashier says sorry he has to go on lunch, go to a different line (why he failed to mention that during the coupon search is unclear). So you jump into the lightning speed line and it grinds to a halt because the guy checking out is legitimately interested in the extended warranty. In desperation, you look over to the glacier line to see that he has left his post aimlessly wander around the front of the store. You catch his attention as he approaches his register and he seems confused that you would want to leave the line you were in for his empty register, but he acquiesces. He gives the extended warranty speech just as well as he had the other 10 times you heard him give it, and at long last you are able to leave with your new prized tool that came with a free other thing that you already have 20 of at home because you’re a cool dude who cuts his coupons out...

Don't go here if you're expecting a quick in-and-out Speedy transaction . Well I had my first horrible experience at this location today July 15th 2020. The older gentleman that was working as a cashier was very pushy about getting an email address. I really do not have time for it this morning and he stated he cannot continue without it. it is a longer email address and I attempted to give it to him I ended up having to spell it out over six times. He still did not get it correct and want to argue that emails do not have. Com in them. I apologize but that is what my email is. And I just wanted to buy the items and be on my way I needed them for a job. The continuing muttering under his breath about how I did not understand how their system and emails work. When I asked to speak to the manager, he said he was the manager and no one else was working. It completely derailed a quick in and out shopping experience. I am also incredibly surprised to find out that the only had one employee working in the store. Needless to say, I left without purchesing the item and the cashier still trying to debate how emails work.
I Always have a good experience here. It's...
Read moreBeyond disappointed on how I was just treated at the store on Wesel Blvd. I was told that I needed to place my 14 digit credit card number into the reader. When I asked the gentleman at the counter “why?” And if this was something “new”, his manager Lydette decided she needed to jump in and talk for him. Instead of having me understand the situation on how the “fires in California” were the problem, she decided to get nasty with me. When I say nasty she spoke in a high tone as if I were 3 years old while she was waving her hands all over the place. I worked customer service and this was 100% beyond disrespectful behavior. It took ever bit of me to keep calm because I was taught you don’t bring yourself down to disrespectful people’s level. Definitely would consider going to a different store where maybe teaching customer service, especially from a manger, is top priority. Beyond disappointed. I’d LOVE for corporate to see that video to maybe use as an example of what...
