Marshalls — Local services in Hamilton Township

My wife and I are HUGE fans of Marshalls! So my 2 star review is of the employees, not the store. Not all of the employees were unfriendly. But I had two interactions that employees that I thought could have been better. The second one is the one I’ll talk about here:

My 5yr old son and I were headed to use the restroom. I know from other stores that they don’t want you taking merchandise in the restroom. And that’s fine. I was not going to do that. I was going to park the cart outside of the restroom.

However, on the way into the restroom area, an elderly female employee basically shook her finger at me and said, “ah ah,” “can’t bring your cart in here. See the sign?”

Ironically, there was NO sign outside of the restroom area (see photo 1). Which she quickly realized when she tried pointing to it and only found a blank wall space. I sarcastically said, “I trust you, I trust you, but there is no sign.”

I left the cart at the end of the aisle and proceeded to the bathrooms where indeed there WAS a sign on the door (picture 2) asking customers to not bring merchandise inside.

In my humble opinion, that meant that I could have brought the cart into the area and parked it outside the door. That was my original plan.

All in all, this is nothing major. But she was just not nice about it. It was almost like she thought I was oblivious or ignorant. That wasn’t the case. Not to mention, my son and I were simply wanting to use the bathroom and she delayed us. For anyone with a toddler, you know time is of the essence.

Because it’s nothing major, that’s sort of what bothers me. She could have been more polite and friendly but she mistakenly judged me and where she thought the sign was. I almost told her to not worry about it and that we would find some place where the bathrooms are more accessible.

All that to say, the store is great but if you need to use the restrooms and have a cart with you, be prepared to...

I love this store I always have a great experience here! If you go there looking for shoes, you will find every type of shoe, every brand name and all that great prices! I love that store so much and when I go I wind up buying what I went there for, a little something for me, another little something for my husband and something for my dog LOL.. and maybe a little something for the 🏠 house too!you can go there on a budget and still wind up getting a whole bunch of stuff and not spending a whole lot! Well I found a dress that I liked quickly and went to the register to purchase said dress. There were 4 people behind the register area and not a single one acknowledged that i was standing there with a purchase in hand. 2 had their backs to the customer area trying to not turn around towards potential customers. One was counting out large amounts of money on top of the register in plain view from the customer line area (horrible cash handling procedure) and the last was standing there chewing on her nails and seemed annoyed when she had to stop to ring me up. All in all, terrible customer service and not an experience that I would like to repeat. I'll go elsewhere...
