This arcade was long overdue for a space in Hamilton Mall. We didn't have much to do except browse Level Up for comics and wander about - but Starcade relocated to the mall from another location in AC, making this arcade far more accessible and much cheaper (parking/traffic/toll wise)
Great selection of games, focusing on the important classics like Robotron, Galaga, burger time, track and field, Simpson's, Xmen, marvel vs capcom... the list goes on. What really impressed me is the fact they had vintage Star Wars video games I had not seen since I was young, and they have a pretty varied selection of pinball games as well.
They also offer console gaming areas for the modern gamers and I suspect they also welcome tournaments if consulted, and they also have some table space which I suspect is for TTG (table top gaming). Great for anyone who wants to play DnD or other TTGs in a fun (and loud?) environment for exposure.
The rates were very reasonable because I spend way more than $5 in a few minutes going through quarters at the Barcade - this arcade unlocks all machines for free play and you pay by the hour you've stayed for.
My only complaint was the place was a literal oven, it was cooking but I visited in the winter time and I couldn't tell if it was an issue of machines/people's body heat and not being able to turn on any AC in winter. I'm sure it gets much cooler in the right season or...
Read moreThere are lots of classic video games and a nice selection of old and newer pinball games. As with most arcades, I go to with pinball, not all the pinball tables work perfectly. As anyone who plays pinball knows a lot of the time, flippers stick or the tilt is too sensitive. It's no different here. The good thing is there is a decent selection to choose from, so after a little bit, you'll get to know which tables play better than others. I did not notice any of the arcade games we played have any negative issues. You pay at the end, so keep an eye on the time. The price wasn't too bad considering it's not easy to find pinball anymore. You get a plastic bracelet with a bar code when you first get there, and they scan it at the end of your visit to...
Read moreThis place is amazing! Great rate for all the games being on free play and is only 7/hr. They have old games and new games! Super nostalgic for the older folks and a great place for the younger kids to learn a few things. They have tons of classic arcade games, pinball machines, and driving games, and even 2 air hockey tables! They also have 4 or 5 set ups of PS4 with tables and comfy chairs to sit on. The also sell coffee! There’s several tables and chairs to sit and hang out with your friends at and just enjoy the atmosphere. The manager, Adam, was super knowledgeable and very friendly. Would recommend for ages 10+. I had a blast and I’m 36. I will definitely recommend to all my friends and will be back very soon, probably end up coming...
