I went for the first time since this pub was purchased, remodeled, and renamed the Brickhouse.
I had the turkey chili, which was bland and had a covered top of cheese that one expects on a French Onion soup. This chili was terrible!
There was a shift change and I learned that Chuck, the daytime bartender, was cheating me out of happy hour pricing. When I brought it to the night bartender's attention, she kindly offered me another beer. I didn't want one. She asked if I wanted to speak with the owner, which I did.
Phil (I think I remember his name correctly), did not apologize for Chuck being dishonest but instead tried to brush it off. I thought it was a mistake at first. Phil was probably in on it all, trying to get cash without having to report sales (and pay taxes.) He was not accepting my comments at all. I was getting angry and left. I wondered how many new customers they treat this way. Doesn't Phil want new business that will return and tell others about the place? I just want honest service, regardless of price.
The only nice thing is the change of the bar area, it's more open.
The American Pub owner was honest, even if the bar area was different. The food was better too. Marty should have just remodeled and kept that place honest. What a bummer! Don't waste your time or money going to the...
Read moreWe were in the area purchasing a vehicle hood through Facebook Marketplace and decided to stop by the Brick House Pub & Grille. And I'm so glad we stopped by!
It's a Sunday afternoon so not a lot of customers however I suspect this is a busy place on weeknights and weekends as it has a sizeable bar area, plenty of seating and there are alcoholic beverages to go - where you can purchase cases at a separate register.
Our server, Jen, was lovely. She greeted us immediately and was so attentive and friendly throughout our entire meal. We mentioned we were from Maryland and had a 2.5 hour drive home, and how happy we were to choose this restaurant for a quick lunch. We ordered the Oakcrest Blue burger (bacon and bleu cheese) with fries, beyond burger with side salad and the Brick House Pub Fries (waffle fries with melted cheese, bacon, olives and jalapeños), plus two soft drinks for $45 without tip included. The meal price was perfectly in line with the fantastic quality of food and generous portions.
Anyone would be happy to eat here as there are plenty of options. Thank you Jen and Brick House Pub & Grille, although we may not return since we're so far away, I promise to visit again if we're ever back...
Read moreDO NOT EAT HERE FOR RISK OF YOUR HEALTH!!! At one point this was an awesome place to stop and eat. HORRIBLE!! I came in with my husband and 2 small kids. The server was super friendly. The food literally made me sick. It's new years eve, my husband and I started with ordering a shot of Jack Honey and a glass of water for our drinks. I am not sure what we were given, but did not taste like Jack Honey. In the time it took me to go to the bathroom and come.back I was pale and SICK SICK SICK to my stomach. Then our food came (the kids grilled cheeses were fine). The salmon in wine sauce, dry over cooked and No sauce. Also was an incredibly small piece of pre frozen salmon out of a pack you buy at Acme. Drunken clams... Had one and that was it. Over cooked and served in the water they steamed it... No flavor. On top of this, apparently the cook had over 30 years experience, but initially made mussels not clams?????? $80 later left sick and empty. The owner/ manager should be ashamed of how this was handled. It is not the server at fault, she was wonderful, the manager/ owner had a chance to rectify but instead hid in the corner, never addressed us, and now here is this review. DO...
