I am giving this place a deserved bad review. I received my Movado Museum watch in 2019 as a gift. By far the nicest watch I own. I only wore it a few times that first year. I went to wear it one day and the battery was dead. So I was told by friends to let Garrick replace the battery. I didn't want to chance scratching the bezel or damaging it, so I went there. After they changed the battery, they handed it to me and I saw they put a large scratch across the back cover id assume while trying to remove the cover. It looks like the tool slipped and went all the way across almost. They didn't seem to care, acted like it was no big deal, and would do nothing for me. Within the first two times wearing it after that I noticed it wasn't keeping time all of the time, only sometimes, randomly. So I didn't wear it the last few years. Thanks day I decided to take it to another jeweler to have it inspected and battery replaced. When the jeweler removed the back cover, without scratching it... He noticed that the inner battery cover was missing as were the screws. Well, only one place ever opened my watch, Garrick! Then, even worse beyond that, the battery they put in was not even the correct battery or size. So the reason the watch was malfunctioning occasionally was because the hold down was missing and battery was not tight, due to the wrong battery. I would have done better than that myself. This is completely unacceptable! I would not let Garrick touch a watch ever again, and because of all of this, would never step foot in there. WARNING, DONT LET THEM TOUCH YOUR WATCH. If they do, you stand to take damage, or wrong, and or missing parts....
Read moreI live outside of Hanover in the Washington D.C. area. My fiancée's parents live in Hanover, and after trying to figure out where to buy an engagement ring, I did a quick search of jewelers in Hanover, and came across Garrick. The reviews indicated I would have a great experience, and I wanted to support a small business and avoid D.C. prices. I was very, very impressed with Garrick. Their sales associates are professional and knowledgeable, and being as they are not commissioned, I never felt as if they were trying to push me into something more than I wanted to pay.
And after I proposed, my fiancƩe's ring was too big, so we called Garrick to see if they could squeeze us in in a Saturday. We drove up immediately, and they have the ring resized in less than an hour.
I worked primarily with Rajen, and he was very helpful guiding me along the ring buying process. He and all of the staff at Garrick are all very professional and courteous. Overall this was beyond all I could have hoped for from a jeweler, and I will continue to do business at Garrick...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had seen but didn't buy, a beautiful ring that happened to be on sale. The ring nagged at my mind for a week or so. When I finally went in to buy it, the ring was gone. There was a young woman that worked there that saw me searching the cases. She asked if she could help. I described the ring to her and luckily she remembered it. She drew a picture of it and then for the next week searched through all of her sources to find it. Unfortunately the ring just couldn't be found but she came up with a few alternatives that were similar. She was so deligent in her search. I was very impressed with her and her employers for allowing her the time for me, a customer. I ended up buying a ring she found for me and am really...
