My computer stopped working in December. I determined the problem was either a dead motherboard or a dead power supply, but I did not have spare parts to test which. Brought it into this store, four days later they call and say my computer isn't working. Yes, that is why I brought to you? I have to drag information out of the person. He says they plugged a new power supply in and the computer booted. This part is important to note. They said it booted and also all my case fans were dead.
I buy a new power supply and case fans, hook everything up. Computer does not boot. After much trial and effort I realize the graphics card is also dead. The computer boots when I unplug the power cord from the card. They did not tell me this, because they did not know, because they did not actually boot my computer.
How do I know? My case fans were not dead. Their wires loop around the back side of the case and plug directly into the power supply, meaning no one opened that side of the case. They would have instantly noted that the case fans were simply not plugged into the power supply they tested. This also means they did not plug in the necessary parts to boot a computer. The power plugs for the cpu, gpu, and both hard drives were all untouched, of those only the gpu is accessible from the front side. These people lied about diagnosing the problem with my computer and actually cost me money by making me buy case fans I didn't actually need.
But wait, there's more. A couple weeks later my phone took a spill and the display cracked. The only repair place authorized by Samsung anywhere within a hundred miles is them. Back I went. I tell him my phone model, he looks it up. Says since my phone is not with Verizon that I need a non-Verizon display. That there are compatibility issues if I tried the Verizon version. They of course do not have any in stock.
He calls three of the next nearest stores of this chain, they don't have any. He says I can leave my phone there so when he gets the display in maybe, not definitely but maybe, two weeks then he can repair it. But I can't take my phone back if I do that as he says he would take the broken display off and wouldn't release the phone to me in pieces. I decline.
I call the fourth nearest store of this chain and ask if they have the non-Verizon display. Guy says there are no compatibility issues and no difference between the displays. I then call Samsung directly and ask the same thing, they confirm the same.
I took my phone to the second nearest store and it was fixed in an hour with the Verizon display. That store was quick, easy, and to the point and most importantly they knew what the fudge they were doing. Don't go to this store for any reason. Save yourself your money, time, and sanity. The incompetence here...
   Read moreVery dissapointed.
It all started about a month ago. My Pixel 7 pro unexpectedly bricked. I mean completely dead. Would not even boot into safe mode. I had the phone for a little over a year, so unfortunately it was out of the factory 1 year warranty. I decided to bring the phone in for them to take a look, just in case it was something simple. This turned out to be the biggest mistake I made. Let me start by saying that I baby my phones. Not so much as a scratch on the screen, completely free from blemishes.
2 days after I dropped the phone off they contacted me and said that they can recover my data for $200, or replace the motherboard for $600. The data on the phone was nothing I could live without, so I decided to take the phone home and attempt a repair myself. I purchased a used Pixel 7 Pro board and watched several youtube teardown videos to prepare myself for the task. UbreakIfix did not bother to put the phone back together the way it was. The graphite tape was missing, the adhesive around the screen was nonexistent... You would think thats about as bad as it gets. Oh no. 1st motherboard replacement went smooth, I turned on the screen and immediately noticed 4 vertical lines running the length of the screen. Keep in mind - this phone worked flawlessly, not one dead pixel before it bricked. I decided that this board must be defective. So I returned it and purchased another one. Unfortunately the same exact problem persists. I think these guys swapped out my screen with a defective one they had laying around, thinking im not going to spend $600 bucks to fix an $800 phone. I am beyond pissed. I will be filing a BBB complaint against this business. Avoid at all costs.
In case you are curious. A used motherboard costs around 200 bucks. Replacing it is not that difficult. I did it with a guitar pick, heat gun, and a...
Read moreIt took me 4 times to get my phone repaired properly. The first 3 times I received terrible communication and service (recorded below). On the 4th visit, I was told a manager and a tech were fired. on that visit, the communication and service were excellent. I hope they have straightened out their issues.
Review of my service as reported to GOOGLE: I took my phone to uBreakIFix 8/12/24. The first drop off, they repaired one of two issues and ordered parts for the other issue. They said they would call hwen the parts came in.
2nd drop off (8/23): 10 days later I had to call to see if parts were in and they was so I brought it in for service. I was told that they needed to order more parts again and they would call me. Also, my phone now had multiple things wrong with it after I picked it up: including microphone during calls barely worked, auto rotate and auto brightness didnt work, Bedtime mode didnt work.
3rd drop off (9/4): I never got a call about parts and had to contact them again. I scheduled a time to bring it in and the service guy said it would be a 4 hour fix. They had my phone from 10-5:30 and never called me. I finally stopped by to find out that they never even looked at my phone that day.
4th drop off (9/10): I was told a manager and a tech had been fired and they apologized for the bad service. The tech this time called me and kept me updated on my repair and it was satisfactorily...
