Made a pickup order this morning. I got the message confirming my order was ready. I go to the store, park in the designated spot, and use the app to confirm I was ready for someone to bring out the order.
Nobody came out after 10 minutes, so I called. I was told they would bring it right out; you already know what happened next. Nobody came out after 15 minutes from the phone call. I've waited 25 minutes total, I go in the store, and approach the pick up counter. Nobody was there, so I press the "I would like assistance" button, and was shortly thereafter approached by an associate.
She was immediately snappy at me, clearly annoyed that I pressed the button. I told her I was there for an order, I gave her my last name but she said it wasn't there. We checked under a different name, and sure enough it was there. I apologized for my mistake and she proceeded to scold me about the pickup name and the name on the billing address (which evidently is the name they use for your order, NOT THE ACTUAL NAME IN THE SLOT THAT SAYS "PICK UP PERSON") do not match and that i need to fix it. I showed her my phone, where it clearly states that I am the person that purchased the order, I am the pickup person for the order, and my confirmation code; she didn't want to hear it.
She then made the assumption that someone bought my items for me and that they didn't put the correct name for the pickup person down on the order.
Total bummer of a trip. I love Michaels and have shopped for them for 15+ years. However, I don't need to be reprimanded nor talked down to at the store that takes hundreds of my dollars every year. I think I'll take a break and give Joann a visit.

Barbara was the first employee I saw: I asked for assistance and she immediately dropped what she was doing to help. I had my list and I shared it with her. She read it and off we went! She found everything i wanted, helped with several choices based on price and quality, and did it all with a smile (she was wearing a mask, but I could see the smile in her eyes!). Gail was also very pleasant and friendly at the checkout. I have, among many other things, limited vision. She gladly explained the store email sign up and did the work of input for me. It was a great shopping experience for a getting older gentleman by the name of john Kirkpatrick of Rockford, IL....
Read moreI went in with a friend and asked If could grt somewhere. ee were told where to go. we walked back there and couldn't find what we were looking for. so we walked back to the front and stated we couldn't find the item. then a gentleman stated well I guess I'll have to walk u back seems u can't find it. he walked back to show us the item which it wasn't there bur suggested to purchase another item and we did it was posted to be 40% off. when we got to the check out it didn't ring up on sale. so i told the lady the lovely man "eyeroll" who helped us showed is it was 40%off. long story short THEY DIDNT HONOR the sale price . so I wouldn't suggest shopping at this...
