A decent store with a good collection of souvenirs, hiking gear and utility items. The old gentleman at the counter was courteous and was having a good chat with the customers.
However, beware of the lady. She is clearly racist, who pointed out our accents and said that makes her unsure where we are from. She doubted if we could be carrying a card issued by a US bank. I wish I could have put her in place by questioning her attitude.
In any case, a visit to this store has the potential to ruin all the great memories of harpers ferry from the wonderful nature, people and history.

   Read moreThis was in my opinion the best souvenir shop in the area. I could have gone home with half the shop, no problem. I am happy with the items I limited myself to. The shop keeper however is a different story. Very standoffish and inhospitable. The general feeling I got from every other shop owner in the area was so welcoming and accommodating that this was a rude "speed bump" in my visit that definitely caught me off guard. He hung outside with them and was chatting with them for hours while I was in Harpers Ferry for the day. But the owner doesn’t care about this review, right?
