Pet Friendly, Superb Food, and Unbelievable Service

Take it from an Award Winning Chef who Knows good Food, And Great service, You’ll have the nicest Experience Here, so, if You’re like a lot of the fellow travelers (I’m from Lancaster County, PA) Who we saw looking up reviews, or Stopping by trying to read menus, Save Your time, and Choose Here every single time, I would also like to Recommend Megan, And Hope the owners of this establishment give Her every opportunity available Here, because She deserves it, I say this as someone who has owned several Busineses, A Bed and Breakfast, been an executive chef at a number 1 Rated Inn in the U.S., Had my work seen all over television and major news networks, Culinary Endorsements, and Even World Food championships World Chef Event, I can tell You, She’s a gem, In fact, I would even print a copy of this review off for Her should she ever need an unbiased review of Her work for a reference as to Her Performance because I can tell You I have seen it all, or at least most of it, and They don’t make them better than this, Megan is that rare 1% of a server that’s destined to be a top performer in the field no matter where she goes or what she does, She was so attentive, super friendly, Our food came out in the perfect sequence, Our drinks never ran dry, She was a huge fan of the restaurant and the owners, and Even Asked Us, and every table she served to please return soon and How Much She Loved this restaurant and Was happy everyone she served did too, There wasn’t a person at any one of Her tables who didn’t have a constant smile on their faces, and we were Glad to be two of them, The owners of this restaurant, and anyone who’s reading this, would be so proud to have Her, and should ask for Her section so you can see what I Mean, she’s Exceptional and You will only have the best experience Here with Her Care, So many places you go, and it’s a gamble, am I going to be treated kindly, and walk away feeling I got a good value for my money? The food speaks for itself, it’s Unbelievably delicious, But Megan really shined every bit as much if not more and Should be proud of Herself as well as the owners should be very, very proud of Her and Will hopefully give Her an incredible career Here because she deserves it!!!!, We had the wings, and the cheesesteaks the Cheesesteaks were Huge, even as a chef, I can’t make them for that, the the sweet potato fries were awesome, The wings were Jumbo sized, The veggies we got with them were fresh, cold, clean, and crisp, the Salads we saw walk by were huge and the burgers looked second to none, We’ve had the shrimp and Charcuterie board appetizers before and we’re satisfied, We love the fact that it’s pet friendly and our Pooches can be as comfortable as we are, Megan Even made sure Our Pups water bowl never ran dry, She’s the kind of server that can have a rom full of tables and you still feel like you’re the only ones in the room, she’s full of superb qualities that I could go on and on about that You just can’t train into a person, You either have it or you don’t, so, I hope anyone reading this who goes asks for Her, she deserves only superb tips in the top 20%+ bracket reflective of the quality work she gives Your customers and If You Have Her, You’ll see what I Mean as a Guest, So, Job well done Rabbit Hole, Your cooks were Excellent, Your restaurant indoors and out was clean and Comfortable (I Loved those blue and white chairs) We even saw a couple of people we sent there on Our walk back to the car who were looking at other restaurants we said “You have got to go to the Rabbit Hole!!!!” And that’s what I’m happy to say now, Try the cheesesteaks, the Sweet potato fry upgrade is so perfect, And anything else we saw was on Point, I Really Loved that charcuterie board we had the time before and the shrimps are so plump and actually come to the table well seasoned, I can’t believe How incredible this is Overall, It’s one of those rare restaurants that only gets better as time goes on!!!!

Visited off season for lunch, February 2024. Charming restaurant, geared mostly to their outdoor deck seating with great views. The inside dining room is cozy, and the staff were all friendly.

The prices were a little high and some of the portions were larger than necessary. The soft pretzel and cheese dip appetizer wasn’t very good. The pretzels tasted like frozen and microwaved, and had a burnt taste to them. The warm cheese dip that came with the pretzels was a nice consistency and temperature, but did not have a lot of taste to it. It could have used a little seasoning or fresh herb maybe. The fish and chips entree was ok, the coleslaw was the best part of the dish. The Fries were mediocre, could have used a bit more crisp to them and needed seasoned. The fish was a very large piece of white fish but was not seasoned at all prior to frying. When I bit into it, liquid spilled out. They did sprinkle it with old bay on top, which I loved the effort of, but it basically just fell off of the breading and I couldn’t really taste it…perhaps it was seasoned too long after it came out of the fryer, it acted as a garnish rather then a seasoning. The breading was very nice and had a great crisp to it, temperature was very good - nice and hot.

I think they would really benefit to use smaller cuts of fish, and preseason it before breading it and/or add some seasoning into the breading. I also thought $22 was a touch high, it was a lot of food but also wasn’t necessary to be. The fillet could be a little thinner too to prevent it the liquid moisture build up between the fish and the breading. Lastly, I was excited for the hush puppies, which they put 3 of them on the plate. Unfortunately they were dried out and very overdone. They kind of just crumbled and were not appetizing. They might benefit from doing 1 large hush puppy instead of 3 small ones, so that the center doesn’t dry out and crumble when frying.

My guests had an impossible burger which didn’t look that great, all of the fixings were nicely done but the patty itself was very thin and dried out looking. And also the bbq sandwich, which was good and a very nice serving size…maybe a bit big for a lunch portion though.

I would love to see them introduce a lunch menu, or offer a little more in the small plates part of the menu. The menu was not large, but had a good amount of items on it. If you don’t eat red meat, which I don’t, then you are left with only a few options. Much of the alternative options were pricer though, again a lunch menu and/or small plates option would have been nice. I love tapas style, I end up spending more money on ordering a variety of items than I would with just one large heavy dish.

Will return, we liked the place a lot. I probably wouldn’t get the fish and chips again, or the...

We went to the Rabbit Hole on a chilly Veterans Day Saturday night. If you visit in the fall or winter, make sure you dress warm or bring extra layers, because you might have to sit on their patio, because space inside is sparse. We wanted to sit inside but the host convinced us the patio would be a shorter wait and a suitable option because it is heated. While they try to provide propane heat for their patio, it is not enough to make temps below 50 feel comfortable. The cool breeze off the rivers and between the hills was uncomfortable. The Rabbit Hole seemed enticing from the looks of the menu and reviews. It looked like a cozy restaurant with a great atmosphere, a variety of drinks on tap and in the bottle, and satisfying entrees...so we had to give it a try. We nearly skipped it because the line seemed long earlier in the day as we walked around town. At dinner the wait was about 30 minutes to be seated. We started with Bavarian Pretzel Rods which got to our table quick along with our drinks. There were three large Pretzel Rods in the basket which was perfect for our group of three. The rods were soft and warm and pulled apart nicely for dipping. The rods came with a somewhat watery white cheddar dip which was not what we expected and not appealing, but edible. Our entrees took a long time to arrive, and we shivered in the cold while waiting even with two outdoor heaters near us. We dined on the Blue Ridge Burger, Cheddar Burger, and and Artichoke 'Crab Cake' Sandwhich. The Artichoke 'Crab Cake' Sandwhich was the most unique, and satisfying. We like to try creative menu items and this was one that shined. It tasted like actual crab yet was completely vegitarian, which vegitarians I'm sure would enjoy. It was a good option for my wife who is allergic to beef and pork. While the Crab Cake sandwhich stood out the others were just burgers, nothing amazing about them, but they were good. Unfortunately our fries became cold not long after they arrived on our table from the chilly weather and inadequate heat. Service was slow, no refills offered, and check took a while, and since we wanted to get off the cold patio faster swifter service would have been wonderful. I paid with cash and didn't wait for change because my fingers were frozen. We may stop there when it's warmer for the Artichoke Crab Cake Sandwhich again, but we may also find a better overall experience somewhere else. (My suggestion is that they enclose their patio with a retractable clear tent. Other restaurants have enclosures, and retract the covering during the...

📌Save to plan your trip to historic Harpers Ferry, WV! This is the perfect weekend getaway, whether you’re traveling from near or far. A National Historic Park and Appalachian Trail town, there’s so much to explore. HERE are my can’t miss things on your trip to Harpers Ferry if love adventure! 👇🏼 🥾Hiking trails are the first thing I look for on any trip, and there’s no shortage of options here. This is the Loudon Heights trail to Split Rock, which has exceptional views of Harpers Ferry (though it is challenging). Another great option is the Maryland Heights trail (slightly less challenging). 🚂 Check out the historic train station (& the tunnel) You’ll more than likely spot a train, as they come through often! 🪨Take in the views from Jefferson Rock- named after Thomas Jefferson who stood here in 1783. (Note: DO NOT climb on it). ⛪️ Just down from the rock are the ruins of St. John’s Episcopal Church, built in 1851 and then badly damaged during the Civil War. These ruins are contrasted by the beautiful St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church down the street. 🍔Get comfy at The Rabbit Hole. It’s a super cool spot with a fun vibe, delicious food, and tons of craft beer options. ☕️ Grab a pick me up or sweet treat at the idyllic Main Street Coffee Shop. I loved the maple spice latte! 🏘️Just wander around! There’s so much to see, and I loved browsing the shops for unique/locally made items. I got the coolest handmade mug from Magpie Pottery! STAY 🏡 We loved The Penthouse airbnb in nearby Martinsburg, WV! It was perfect for just the two of us. @martinsbnb has several properties in the area for families too. The location is perfect, as Martinsburg also has a lot to offer. [HOSTED STAY] BEFORE YOU GO 🎟️ Since Harpers Ferry is a National Park site, there’s a $20 entrance fee (or it’s free with an annual park pass). You can pay by phone when you get there. Parking is limited, but you can park at the visitors center and take the shuttle. Questions? Let me know in the comments! 👉🏼Have you been here yet??

Other restaurants have enclosures, and retract the covering during the warmer months.)
