I'm not giving this business any stars. We visited the one in Concord Mills in NC. My 14 year old daughter had her own cash & was so excited to see so many Funko Pop figures. She is a HUGE " Parks & Rec" fan & found a case of, what she assumed was, rare Funko Pops. To her delight, there was a " Burt Macklin" figure from " Parks & Rec" for $46. She quickly bought the figure bc she knew it existed but had never found it anywhere in stores. One week later, we were shopping at a " 2nd & Charles" and found the very same figure, with the same " Hot Topic Exclusive" sticker on the box for $18. My daughter just happen to then check the " Hot Topic" site and found it still listed for $10. My daughter was so bummed. She didn't understand why the figure she bought from this video game store was locked up as if it were rare only to find out it's not. She even called when we returned home to ask. The female employee just told her that they are " collectibles" . I didn't understand what that even meant to I called the next day. I'm pretty sure I spoke with the same employee who told me that ALL OF THE POP FIGURES ARE SECOND HAND. I asked how they price things & she said it's based on what the figures are going for on eBay and other sites. This figure is $8-15 on eBay. Not good enough. I just told her how disappointed my daughter was & how she felt deceived by them making it appear as if she bought something rare when it clearly is not. So shop at the store if you want but I would so your research on the figures you are looking at bc you can probably find them...

I recently visited Video GameWorld at Concord Mall and had a mixed experience. I picked up some PokĆ©mon cards, but the condition of three cards didn’t match the label. It was graded higher than it should’ve been. While I did receive a discount, I feel like condition accuracy is something they should definitely improve on, especially since they specialize in trading cards.

Pricing overall was fair and seemed to follow TCGPlayer trends. That said, it would be nice if they considered price drops or at least factored in other platforms like eBay or PriceCharting to give a fuller view of current values.

The employee I interacted with felt a bit off, not rude, but the energy was low and I felt a little rushed. It’s possible they were just having an off day, but customer service could’ve been more welcoming and patient.

What really threw me off was the pricing on certain sealed products. For example, the ETB for Destined Rivals was priced at $100, which is well above retail. I get that market prices can be higher and maybe their distro pricing was steep, but it’s odd when other local game stores sell the same product much closer to MSRP. It doesn't sit right with me personally.

I’ve included the images of the three cards that were labeled with incorrect conditions. As you can see, the wear and imperfections don't match the stated grade. Just something to be aware of if you're planning to buy...

So today I was having a rough time and I was helping me and my fellow roommates to leave from a new apartments since we're almost eviction due to someone (ex friend) neglect to pay rent... Plus paranormal situation (Long story). So anyway I realized I didn't even have engough to pay a mover truck due to the long limited space of my collection I have, especially transfer to my mom house, my safe room also have cool collection as well but not enough room lol. Then I have no choice to sell some of my collection to have less space but at the same time afford the truck too. Then I met those two workers, manager with the glass, and other one wear a power ranger morph sweater (I forgot their names which I apologize) but they are very nice, sincere and listening my story and they knew exactly how I feel and have sympathy, after all that he even estimate my price of my cool collection games and sell very honest fair price. Which I'm very greatful and that save my life. Someday i'll return the favor if I met those two again. Definitely look more forward to shop here again or sell again. Cuz wee need more people like them two not only a fun salesperson but with Honest, nice and fairness and I wish I can rate 10/5 star! Thx u so much! Pray and please world, check out this cool best...

**If you’re buying consoles here please exercise caution when doing so** I appreciated their service however their consoles are a bit misleading. I bought a PS4 advertised as a ā€œslimā€ but it was a standard model (CUH-1115A). Totally fine and think it may have just been a labelling mistake. I was concerned about it sounding like a 747 when playing any games, so I asked if they cleaned it or know of any reasons why it is super loud. They said it was just the PS4 and that it was dusted so it should be very clean. The warranty stickers were still on though so the cleaning must have been a quick spray through the vents. I opened the console and found a disgusting amount of dust and dirt. I understand this is refurbished, but if I am buying this console at the same price as GameStop who would most likely have better quality products, it feels like I was tricked in a way.

Of the many times I've been to this set of stores in Concord, I had never entered this game store, yes, I passed by it many times but I never felt like going in until this day arrived. I had no idea that in addition to games the store offers a wide variety of toys related to the world of games, I for example played Giod of War for a few years and could easily buy a Kratos to put in my room! Another thing I would like to mention are the super nintendo cartridges that, after playing them, brought me a beautiful memory of when I was a child and played Mario Bros, Top Gear, Aladim, among others! anyway, it's worth going in and taking a look even if you're not going to buy anything, as was my case.
