Based on the experience I had I'm sorry to say that I will not be coming back to ifixitandrepair. My screen was broken during the replacement of my battery Monday. It took until Friday for a new screen to come in. I was disappointed you guys wouldn't pay the extra shipping to get it here sooner. Because of this I had to go buy a phone for my wife to use while we waited. This was not what really made me decide to stop doing business with you though. When I got my phone back they had not put a screen protector back on it (I had a tempered glass one on it). He said that he could order one but I would be paying for it because ifixit is not liable. I asked why wouldn't you be liable for something you broke. He said oh well it would have come off while I was doing the battery anyway. I said well then you should still be liable. It would be different if when I brought the phone up there I would have been told that my screen protector would come off and I would have to buy a new one, but I wasn't. When I bring my phone to get a battery fixed I expect the rest of it to be given back to me the way I dropped it off. Now I have paid for a battery, a phone for my wife to use because ifixitandrepair broke her screen, and a screen protector. The issue I have is the lady called me and told me that I have to pay $100 up front before the battery is ordered. Here is the thing.... I have used this company many many many times from phone repair, to Ipad repair to accessory purchases etc. I have spent a lot of money there and chose not to take my devices anywhere else. In addition to that , I have always paid for every last repair that I have gotten. Not too happy with this at all. This is the first time a lady has called me from this company and this is the first time that I have been dissatisfied. I feel that I have spent too much money there to have to be treated as if I won't pay for my services. SMH Not even sure who this lady is because she never gave her name. Hopefully I can just get my device fixed this last time and move on. Thanks
2/1/20 FYI- It was a computer not a phone. Update: I was contacted by one of the owners who was very apologetic about what happened and gave me a clear understanding as to why the deposit was needed up front. In addition, so far my computer is running smoothly. Thanks again
