During a recent cruise stop in Hilo, we visited various shops not too far from the port. As it was our first trip to Hawaii, and our last cruise stop, I had my sights set on a Hawaiian print blouse.
This is a small shop, nicely decorated and very tidy. Upon entering, the first thing I noticed is the employees were all wearing clothes from the shop. What a nice way to display the clothes on various heights, shapes and sizes for visitors to see.
As others have said, it is pricy, at least for my budget, so I proceeded to the clearance rack in the back. There I found a beautiful dress, though none left in my size. Later, my husband came in and we thought perhaps a blouse would be more practical for me. Back to the clearance rack and found the perfect one, a Baby Doll Blouse made from Bamboo.
I am not one to spend much on clothes, and even though their 50% off was more than I ever spend on a blouse, this was perfect. Not only did it look nice on my but it's my first time owning or wearing Bamboo and it is wonderful! The blouse has a looser fit both in the body and sleeves, which makes it even more comfortable.
I wanted to wear it during our sea days back to the mainland but was not about to send it to the ship laundry and risk damage. What's a girl to do? I hand washed it in the sink in our cabin, hung it to dry overnight and wore it to dinner the next evening. But the story doesn't end there!
After dinner, while attending a show on the ship, I stepped out to the restroom. On my way, another lady stopped me and said "you have a beautiful blouse," to which I said "thank you" and she continued...I know it's beautiful because I bought the same one! I asked if it was in Hilo and she said "yes! That little shop where you get a free mimosa!" I told her she should have worn hers and we would've had a picture taken together. As our conversation ended, she said, "Well, you have great taste!"
Now I have a beautiful souvenir from the Island, along with a fun memory from a fellow...
Read moreI was starting to be a loyal customer but recent events turned me off. 6/18/21 release of new merchandise was advertised so I got up early to shop the sale because I know they have limited sizes per style. At the 6 am start all size smalls in the two swing dresses were sold out which made me question if they did not have size smalls to begin with. I asked them to advertise next time if certain sizes would not be available through a comment on their IG page but my comment was deleted. I question if they deleted it. A shirt advertised for the 6/18/21 sale was not being sold on their website so I sent a comment on IG asking and that comment was deleted as well. I reposted both comments and we shall see if they are deleted again. I do notice customers ask questions on their IG but I don’t see responses. This situation frustrated me as a customer. I would like better...
