When I arrived at my local Hemet Staples, I was hoping to purchase an Apple Air Tag. I had no idea where in the store they might be, so it was fortunate that I was greeted by an employee who took me directly to the display rack where they were in stock. I purchased an Air Tag that day. When I got home and read the instructions, I felt insecure about following them, so I put it on a shelf and forgot about it. Because I will be flying to Florida in two weeks, I decided that I better take my Air Tag back to Staples and ask for help. When I asked the manager, Virgil, for help installing the Air Tag onto my cell phone, he referred me to Lee, a young employee who was behind a nearby register. Perfect choice! Lee could not have been kinder as he politely interpreted the directions for me. In a matter of only a minute or two, we got my Air Tag installed on my phone. Then Lee helped me register it with my suitcase. Next, he showed me how I could use my "Find My" app (on my phone) whenever I needed to know where my luggage might be during my trip. Finally, Lee suggested that I purchase from Staples a special device that is designed to securely hold my new Air Tag. Of course, I immediately purchased it. When I got home, I attached that device to the handle of my suitcase. Thanks to Virgil and Lee, I will always know the exact location of my luggage! One less thing for this old man to have to worry about during my...
Read moreStaff makes up policy as they go along, without managements knowledge. I prepackage and pre-print my UPS labels so I don't have to wait in line, especially during the Christmas rush. I had two of them to drop today, and a very young girl saw that I went ahead of the line to drop my pre-paid boxes (no receipt needed) and informed me the store policy changed, and I had to go behind her friend in line. The young man working the UPS shipping station totally backed her up. I complied reluctantly, and on my way out, I asked the manager about the new policy and he was totally surprised, and assured me that pre-paid packages without a receipt can be dropped without delay. I go to this Staples all the time, and I really don't understand the 2 young peoples motivation for doing this, but I have my suspicions. Ageism is hard to prove, and I won't say that was it, but it sure seemed like that to me. So it's been a month, since the owner said she'd investigate, that was just window dressing, I've never been contacted, and there's been no follow up on...
Read moreI travel for work, currently a thousand miles from home. I presented Dave, a technician in the electronics department, with an odd question about a part that Staples do not sell. My request was a long shot and I was prepared to hear that he couldn’t help me, but he went into his office and returned with the part. Aside from being knowledgeable, he was very friendly and eager to help. Dave’s effort got me back on track and now I can continue my work. A lot of times people who purchase electronics are just trying to ease day to day living but sometimes we purchase electronics to make work easy and this is how I feed my children. Thank you Dave. I’m sure if it were protocol, there would be a section with those things for sale. I believe you went out of your way to help me. You are an asset to your company and you are a fine citizen. I am appreciative. -ByronBullets...
