We used to frequent another local furniture store in the past but we found ourselves leaving annoyed with the sales people who seem to be vultures and wouldnât listen or leave us alone to browse. So we started going to Slumberland and we are very pleased so far! The salespeople are great in they do not hover, they do not chase you down, they do not pressure you. Our last two visits we were greeted by a salesperson once we were half way in the store looking. (As opposed to them standing near the entrance waiting to pounce as soon as you walk in) We let them know we wanted to just look around and they respectfully let us be, giving us ample time to browse and try out things without someone telling us all about the colors it comes in or how the sale works for that piece or whatever other info weâre not yet looking to process until we find what we want. Instead we walked around trying our different things, talked to each other privately about pricing and such and then were able to easily find the salesperson once WE were ready. Along with the service, the options, quality, pricing, and sales all were very reasonable. Weâve now made two purchases and opted to pick them up when they were in. The first purchase came in earlier then expected and pick up was easy. The second purchase was just today so we havenât received it yet. All in all we are very pleased and Slumberland is our new go-to...
Read morePoor customer service. Over the years I have purchased 2 beds, 2 couches, 2 dressers, a recliner and a mattress from Slumberland. Half of those items at the Duluth store. On a recent visit to the store, I was greeted by a woman who helped me for 5 minutes and excused herself (mid-discussion about the product) to help some other customers. It was a complete and obvious brush off, but I remained in the store waiting for her to come back as i was ready to purchase that day. She never did. I left after taking a photo of the bed I wanted. I ordered it from a Slumberland location up north. Overall, that experience was fine. However some key information was left out (that my mattress was coming in a box, and the fact that it needed to "rest" for 24 hrs prior to use). What is most confounding is the brush off I recieved at the Duluth store and the text message from the store manager asking me on a scale of 1-10 how I would rate them. I replied "a 4." He then pressed for more information and I described my experience overall. There was no text message from him after that. To sum it up...they ask for feedback, they receive it, they read that a loyal customer is not happy...and their next move is to NOT reply to their customer's concerns (that they requested)? I will be taking my business elsewhere...
Read moreReally disappointed with their pick up restrictions. They won't let the furniture be delivered to their store in Duluth without really far out notice. I live 2 hours away and I need more flexibility and can not commit to dates weeks out. My life, like most working people, is too complicated for that. They informed me that the chair was ready but that I had to conform to the days in which they would receive it in their store. Those were all week days. I told them I can only come down on the weekends. They told me they could deliver on a Saturday if I gave them a two day notice. So when I saw an opening in my schedule I organized a drive in to Duluth for a Saturday. I called on Thursday for a Saturday pickup and they said it could not be there until Monday. The person then told me even if I called earlier in the week it could not have been there until Monday. Simply put, if you order any furniture from Slumberland, be prepared to make their inability to receive and store your order on their site your highest scheduling priority. This is poor customer service and poor follow through. This will be the last...
