If it were possible to give this location 0 stars I would. I have had other past experiences with this location such as being fitted for a suit, going to pick it up and discover the pants were never hemmed. This one takes the cake.
My wife and I went to Men’s Wearhouse in Hickory many months ago to establish our groomsmen outfits. We left frustrated after our first visit due to the amount of time we waited to help. However, we stuck it out unlike the other customers I watched that decided to leave. Even though we left frustrated a huge weight had been lifted off our shoulders because one more task had been completed. The groomsmen only needed to be fitted for a pair of pants, shirt, and to pick up their tie. I was responsible for picking up the burgundy suspenders which were out of stock at the time. I was completely ok with coming back at a later date for the suspenders.
Fast forward two weeks as the first groomsmen arrives at another Men’s Wearhouse in Charlotte to be fitted. I receive a call stating they have nothing on file for our wedding party. I call the Hickory location to find out the manager that helped us during our first visit was fired from the company and apparently failed to enter our details into their system. We head back to Men’s Wearhouse in Hickory to repeat all of the steps again and to pick up the burgundy suspenders that have since arrived. We get all the details squared away with the outfit and proceed to recover the suspenders only to realize they are navy, not burgundy. We are told our burgundy clip on suspenders will be placed on rush order since the wedding date is drawing near. Great, another hour drive to Hickory but it is what it is.
I finally receive a call that our burgundy suspenders have arrived. I drive to Hickory to recover them, see the color, pay the cashier and leave. Fast forward a few weeks to the morning of our wedding. The suspenders are pulled from the bag as the groomsmen start to get ready. They start to put them on and realize they are not clip on’s, but require buttons that were never sown into their pants. Not the seamstresses fault since that isn’t what we ordered. Huge problem!!!!! I called every men’s warehouse within a 20 mile radius of Asheville, NC to find a solution and no location had what we required in stock. I immediately call the Hickory, NC and speak with Jack, the new manager that replaced the first screwup. Considering my temper and frustration, Jack, agreed to refund my money and was very apologetic for the situation at hand. I did get my money back, however, the groomsmen outfits were a flop. Read moreMy husband had the worst experience renting his suit from this location. Getting fitted and pick up was a breeze! He had a great experience. When we got the suit out it had not been cleaned. He had to clean stuff off the pants and bow tie. On Sunday he noticed he had some bug bites all over him (not mosquitoes) and he was the only one with them! We had planned to just mention this upon return so they could ensure it was cleaned for the next customer, no big deal. The wedding was out of town and on Saturday. We were in a town we’d never heard of and had a long drive so we decided we would just return the suit on Monday after work. When I walk in to return the suit after I give my husband’s name I was very rudely met with it’s a $20 late for everyday that it’s late. I informed him that my husband thought it was due on Monday and that we weren’t aware of the $20 late fee. The gentlemen informed me that he was absolutely sure that we were made aware because his store was good about that. Mind you he was not the one who checked it out to my husband. At this point I’m upset and tell him the suit wasn’t even clean which I get the reply “well that’s on the hub, not us”. No apology no nothing. In the beginning he is only going to charge us 1/2 of the late fee and then decided to take care of it this time but said to be aware of it moving forward, for this I gave a 2 star. We however will not be returning to this men’s warehouse.

Read moreI was at Hickory NC today and this was the worse experience I have ever had. This store did not even rate a 0 star.
I went on line and made an appointment. I am the bride to be and while I did not have specifics I did have a general idea of what I want on our wedding day.
The sales man was not attentive, did not seem to have any knowledge of products and was NOT helpful at all.
I'm not sure if it was because I didn't have specifics in mind but just that general idea or he just didn't have the experience. We ended up wondering around and around by ourselves.
On top of the salesman, there was NO product selection unless you were slim and fit. I hate to tell you but not every man is skinny and not every bride wants to rent a tux or suit.
When asked if there were at least jackets and /or vest within my finance's size we were simply told no. When I asked for a little time to think...the salesman just went off and didn't return for quite some time.
I could not even order a vest to be made because the selection for my colors was so awful.
By the time we left the store I was ready to scream or cry (possibly both).
The ONLY plus side was the we (not the salesman) found a suite in the size I needed for my fiancé on the clearance rack.
I will not be back to any Mens Warehouse nor will I recommend the store.
