Preston Ridge — Local services in Hickory

I regret to say that my experience with Preston Ridge Apartments has been far from satisfactory. From the moment I attempted to move in, I encountered numerous issues that have made my stay here unpleasant.

One of the main concerns I have is with the area manager. Throughout my almost three years of residency, her demeanor has consistently been condescending and rude. Despite her facade of caring for the community, her actions speak otherwise. Communication with her has been inconsistent and unreliable.

There have been several instances of miscommunication regarding move-in requirements and lease agreements. Initially, I was informed over the phone that I needed to make 2.5 times more than the rent to move in, only to be told in person that it was actually 3 times more. Furthermore, I encountered delays in moving in due to maintenance issues with the apartment, which resulted in additional expenses for me, including hotel stays and storage locker fees.

Once I finally moved in, I faced a slew of maintenance problems, including malfunctioning appliances and plumbing issues. Despite the complex being relatively new, these issues have persisted, with recurring problems such as burst pipes during freezing temperatures.

Additionally, there have been instances where I used the outdoor spigot to clean up after other residents' dog waste, which unfortunately led to water damage. Despite assurances from management regarding reimbursement for accommodation and damages caused by such incidents, I faced difficulty in obtaining fair compensation, with threats and delays in communication

In conclusion, my experience at Preston Ridge Apartments has been marred by incompetence and unprofessionalism. While some issues were eventually resolved, the overall handling of situations by management has left much to be desired. I cannot in good conscience recommend this apartment...

Place isn’t that safe they don’t do back ground checks on everyone that live there. Lot of people smoke and do drugs. Beer bottles and liquor bottles can be found throw around on back side of building. People don’t pick up after their dogs when they go potty everywhere. All they do is send emails about it’s a no smoking etc in emails. Place is over priced. Inside the breeze ways stay nasty the place don’t clean up anything. People let their dogs use the bathroom all over their tinny patio. You have creepy dude that fly drones around people windows during the afternoon when staff is gone. Pictures look nice but most are Old just look at pictures from pool area has tree lines but they built on but still post old picture and make it seem very luxury the common area are nice but always booked out. Gym is barely enough things to use about as good as a hotel gym. They have a bike rack in main building but all is take. Dog park...

My parents and I moved here almost 2 years ago. We sold my parents' house, and I moved them in with me so I could care for them and keep them together. After looking for over 6 months and right before we were going to move into a smaller, much less accommodating place, the leasing agent at Preston Ridge called me and a ground-level 3 bedroom/2 bath opened up at the last minute! We moved in within 2 weeks! We have been very happy here, and my mom tells all our family and friends, she feels like she is living in a resort! My parents are 86 and 82, and I am so happy that I can live here with them and make the latter part of their lives so comfortable here at Preston Ridge. Our 3rd bedroom allows for my son, daughter-in-law, and grandkids to have a place to stay when they come to visit us. If we need anything, management and maintenance are always here to help us however they can. We are so thankful to have found...
