My family and I have watched many movies at this theater. Service has always been courteous, and prompt. As I read some of the reviews I noticed many of the same things when we went to see Dungeons And Dragons on Sunday. Before I list these issues, I hope the owners are indeed reading these and know that we as a community want very much for this theater to succeed. Granted the owners of the Shops want apartments to be built in place of the theater but I truly hope that you haven't given up on this place, as it is iconic for Highland Village. These are things that can be resolved pretty easily. There were no security to check our tickets. Granted there was a sign asking that we check in at Concessions, but a person could just walk in and sit down in a theater with out anyone being the wiser. While the staff was very polite, I can't tell if they were under staffed, or improperly placed. We waited quite a bit for our chance at the counter and indeed there was a line to wait, it seemed like one person stood there holding down the fort while others were no where to be found. Eventually 3 people arrived at the counter and the people began to move. As said by others, the popcorn was not fresh. Theater 9 indeed had some form of sewage leak in the hallway. My guess it was tied to the women's restroom in close proximity. Advertisement for movie promotional items was in full display, but the employees disclosed that they never received the promotional items. Things that would certainly boost income.
Fingers crossed that these things are resolved as many of these complaints range all the way back for months and months. Once again, my family adores this theater. I hope that you do not give up, and throw up your hands in the face of the Shops owners pushing for apartments. Something I hope all Highland...
Read moreI have gone to this theater since it opened. It use to be a nice place to go with family and friends. These last years it has fallen into terrible dis-repair. The bathrooms are foul smelling and customer service is lacking. This last weekend we went to the theater of Saturday for a 4PM movie. There was only one person at the ticket counter. NO ONE inside at the service desk. The lines were long. On Sunday our family of 5 went for an outing and only because we had gift cards from the holidays. Again for a 1:10 movie there were long lines with only one attendant at the ticket office. Lines were long at concessions as well. We have historically been patrons of this theater, who always buy concessions and are Stubbs members. Until this theater decides to spend some money by staffing adequately, cleans its restrooms so they don't smell like the NY subway system, and clean and repair the seats, and the walls that are covered with food since it opened 12 years ago, I will take my business elsewhere. I care about my local businesses so I have acutlly asked to see the manager 2 times before and shared with him how dirty the restrooms are and the movie seats as well. That was months ago and nothing has changed even in the restrooms where a thorough cleaning crew could steam out the smell. I have been feeling this way for quite some time. will now drive 5-10 minutes further to competition until I read about a remodeling of this theater. Annually as a family we spend between 700-1000 dollars going to the movies. I am not alone, I hear comments from other movie goers of there unpleasant experiences at your theater due to the lack of cleanliness and...
Read moreThis was the worst experience of my life at a movie theater and the fact that it happened on Christmas Day made it terrifying. Me and my daughter went to see the color purple arrive at the theater around 4 PM. We went to the concession stand around 430. Ordered popcorn soda and mozzarella sticks, and was told that we had to wait On popcorn because the orders were back up. I gave the cashier a $50 bill in his hand, and he threw the change back to me on the counter. I also noticed after I placed my order that the same cashier and other cashiers were taking orders and giving other guest their popcorn. I walked over to the reception desk to talk to the manager. He told me that it was procedure to put the money on the counter after Covid. He also instructed one of the cashiers to give me a bag of popcorn. I still had to wait on mozzarella sticks after people who checked out after me, and received the same item, (mozzarella sticks) because I arrived early I also noticed that Theater two was cleaned out early where the color purple was playing but we still had to wait outside only being let in to take our seats Two minutes prior to the moving starting. It was a long line of people formed outside, waiting to be seated. I feel like this is discrimination. The facility was filthy and employees were standing around just talking. The manager and bartender were laughing about the matter at hand. It sad that its 2023,and people are still being treated different because of the color of their skin! AMC should be ashamed of this type of behavior! Please do not waste your time going to this place customer service is awful, and The...
