Big Bottom Distilling — Local services in Hillsboro

Excellent selection of samples (I am under the impression the samples rotate over time, but I've only visited once so far).

It's a cozy little place, maybe room for five people if they are on very friendly terms with one another. I tried samples of two items:

Barlow Trail port cask finished Bourbon (Big Bottom Distilling) Oregon Single Malt Whiskey (Tualatin Valley Distilling)

and walked out with a bottle of the Oregon Single Malt and a bottle of something I had read about, but hadn't tried, the Apple Brandy (from Big Bottom Distilling). Trying it at home, the Brandy is excellent!

I'm happy to find local place where I can hear about how they come up with...

Big Bottom is open again! For several years I missed the fabulous rye they produced after the distillery was purchased by one of "the big guys" and they just left it... Sitting in barrels, gathering dust.
