This is a great place for dining. Menu is not tens of pages long but it has all the essentials as far as fish and meat options go. I also like the great list of beers, wines and cocktails. Service was great and the staff was attentive and friendly. This is one of my favorite places for eating out. Highly recommended!
Revisited with a few guests. Service was great as usual. Salmon and steelhead entrees were really delicious. Brownies, creme brulee and the cheesecake were also amazing. Portions of the desserts are much bigger compared to the entrees. So order with caution ! Spent about $45 per person, which is not too bad given the overall quality.
Revisited today. What I really like about this place is it is one of the very few restaurants that serve great food as late as 22:50. I am a night owl and I often end up looking for dinner past 22:00. Copper River is perfect for me!
Brought friends from Atlanta and they sampled the dessert menu. Got thumbs up all round. The banana split was amazing. Creme Brulee was also top notch! CR did not disappoint as usual. Service was good too though it was a busy Friday night.
I brought my team of 20+ in from work to enjoy the items on the menu for lunch. Everyone was happy as expected.
Great service as usual. Ribeye steak needs to be thicker and cooked less. Desserts were excellent. Had to wait to be seated though I had a reservation and arrived on time. Very crowded on Friday evenings. Parking was challenging.
13 July 2025 - Revisited for dinner. Waited for 15 minutes to be seated. Salmon with orzo rice was good. Mashed potatoes that came with the ribeye was too salty. Honestly, less salt will definitely bring the flavors out more. My classic dessert choice creme brulee did not disappoint. I loved the local Pino Griogio fwom Washington. Very easy to drink a bit in the sweet side like riesling. Service was also great. I am starting to believe Copper River serves the best calamari in all of Portland. It is hard to...
Read moreI had high expectations for this place from what I heard but I must say I was completely disappointed wit my our service today. I’m sure others have had great experiences but we did not todays. We were seated quickly then waited an unusual amount of time for water or a quick greet from a waiter, after finally having our waiter coming by our service just never got any better. I had to ask the host if we had an assigned waiter.
Joel said he was busy which I think a waiter should never tell waiting customers. Our food was decent bit forgettable, wife’s salmon was pretty bland lacking any flavor as well as her mashed potatoes.
We ordered drinks which was also a disappointment. I ordered a combination but it was on the sweat side and we ordered a king island iced tea which was too sweat for this drink, we swapped it for Moscow Mule but there was so much ginger it unbalanced the drink. Really felt like we had a training waiter and a training bartender.
Interestingly one in our group asked for some water and the waiter did get him water but didn’t give anyone else water, so I asked for water thinking he would the fill the others as well but I was wrong again Joel brought me water and still didn’t ask the others until I asked to fill a cooler others. I understand being busy as you may see we’ve been to many many restaurants throughout the whole west coast.
My hamburger was not made as ordered, I asked for mustard but did not have enough in the bottle as needed but waiter disappeared for a while so did without.
To be honest the food seemed mediocre, the service was terrible and the bartending was compared to a low budget bar sorry I’m able to compare those.
We met the manager Matt on the way out but would’ve been nice if management was a little more engaged with guest.
With all this said I cannot...
Read moreTHE SERVER in the bar, Shannon is one of the most rudest waitresses I’ve ever encountered with. Every time I sit at the bar, it’s my biggest regret because she has the worst attitude. I’ve gone multiple times to copper river and the first time I got service by her, I’m like maybe she’s having an off day.. but NOPE last time I went in with my dad that has a little bit of an accent, he asked for a coke and she clearly knew what he said and said “oh you mean C-O-K-E?”. It’s not just me that has had a bad experience with her but also my friends and family that have gone here and got serviced by her. I don’t know if it’s because of the color of my skin or what she has with people that look like me, because when we saw her servicing other tables that looked like HER, she was smiling and laughing which is something we’ve never seen before! This time I went in with my partner and asked the host to sit in the dining room area and maybe he didn’t hear me but he still sat us at the bar because I didn’t want her to ruin my meal, and immediately got “serviced” by her and well I asked her the options on ciders, and before I even finished my sentence, she said “well if you take a look on the menu on the back, it’ll show our options on ciders” which I only asked her because I know they have a seasonal that’s NOT written on the menu that she had to tell me ANYWAY, instead of being arrogant about it. I’m really surprised she still works here based on the complaints multiple people have given about her. I only like coming to copper river because the food is good and everyone else that works there provides excellent service like our server Paul that helped us after we got moved back into the dining area. He gave us excellent service and even gave us suggestions of desserts after. Thank you to Paul for bettering...
