My friends put in two mobile orders to be picked up at this location, our app wasn’t working so we tried going through the drive thru. The worker at the speaker informed us that they don’t give online orders through the window but he would go ahead and do it this one time which was really sweet of him.
We didn’t know that they didn’t do mobile orders and felt really bad that we were inconveniencing them. We were almost to the window when another employee had come out with one order and we confirmed it was the right name and when we got our bag and drink there was only a corndog in it when my friend had ordered a burger, pretzel and drink. we got up to the window and a very frustrated looking woman (I’m guessing she was a manager) tells us that they NEVER do mobile orders through the drive thru and we needed to pull around to a stall. My friend profusely apologized and we pulled around into a stall.
When we pushed the button the same angry lady got on the speaker and we tried explaining that we had two mobile orders for pick up, she cut us off very rudely and said she’d make a “note of it” that we were in stall nine calling my friend “ashley” when we had told her multiple times it was for the name “ash”. We sat in our car waiting for about 15 minutes when my friends app started working again so they checked in to the stall we were in just to make sure they remembered we were there and STILL nobody came up to our car after sitting there for almost an hour. I know we should’ve tried pushing the call button again but to be fair the last time we did the worker was very very rude and seemed like she was 2 seconds away from spitting in our food.
While waiting for our food we see the very rude worker leave the building and go smoke cigarettes looking at our car as she passed and even leave for the day. I understand that it was a very busy day for them but not only did we not get the correct order, we didn’t get either of our two orders. i’m pretty sure she told the other workers to not give us our food because we were just flat out ignored. We felt so bad for bothering the workers we were even gonna give a $5 tip to the very sweet lady who gave us our first bag of food because she definitely was deserving of it even if the order was wrong.
To the lovely lady who was running food out to the cars who was very clearly stressed out, you are an amazing worker and i hope you got tipped well.
To the unnecessarily rude long haired blonde manager with uneasy creepy green eyes that made me feel like i’m in danger, you must really hate your job to be such a petty mean person to a couple of people that felt bad for inconveniencing you and i know all of your employees hate working with you.
Hopefully we can get a refund for the two orders we didn’t get because a grown woman wanted...

Our story and experience at this specific Hillsboro OR Sonic Drive-In: My aunt has been in and out of the hospital for the last about 18 days or so. She was bounced around 3 different hospitals as they tries to figure out what was wrong with her. It was finally concluded that her heart values weren't working and she needed to have open heart surgery. They life flighted her to Portland Saint Vincent hospital, the 4th and hopefully last hospital before she can go home for good. 5 of us loaded up in a car and drove up and hour away to visit her, all family. About 7:50pm she decided she really REALLY wanted a Large Cherry slushy float blended from Sonic. With the 5 in my car plus my Aunt that had the heart surgery as well as another aunt that had been staying up the last about week, so 7 people total; we got everyone's orders and headed out to the closest open Sonic which happened to be Hilsbro. We got there about 8:10 or 8:15, their line was wrapped around past the parking lot so no doubt they all had a long day and were looking forward to going home. We ended up being the last car of the night and didn't order till probably about 8:45pm, they close at 9pm. No matter where you go everyone has their closing routine and certain machines get closed for cleaning before the end of shift. First thing we tried ordering was her drink but at the time the ice cream machine was closed down so we're where just going to get her a cherry slush, we ordered all the food and other drinks at least and it was a big order which sucks that close to close but we all very much appreciated it! I'm not sure if they over heard us after we ordered our food at the drive up menu or when we got to the window, but everyone else in the car decided it needs to be the slush float and we tried to figure out where else we can get the ice cream from and add it in, (let's be real, if we did this, it wouldn't have been as good as Sonics regardless). But THESE AMAZING PEOPLE heard our struggle and debate; Katie was the work at the window, she asked us what was up and we explained in short hand what was going on and why we were originally sent, she explained it to her I believe manager, Jaden and they explained it to there crew and they all agreed she needed her Large Cherry Slushy Float Blended. My Aunt that had the surgery was super excited especially cause before we found out they would do it we had called to tell her that we were to late. HUGE SHOUT OUT TO KATIE, JADEN, AND THE REST OF THE HILSBRO SONIC CREW ON 5/31/22! You guys all seriously rock and helped restore all of our faith in humanity that we are always a community! We greatly...
Read moreI am originally from Oklahoma where Sonic is an institution and where Sonic came from. So, needless to say I have had my fair share of sonic. I love sonic and really wish there were more in the Portland Metropolis because I can only get my cherry limeade fix every once in awhile because I live in Fairview. We have visited this Sonic multiple times with no issues but for some reason this time was horrible. Not sure if it's the young people who just didn't care about taking your order right or a neglectful management team or being understaffed? I have not been to a Sonic where two different people were taking your order, one Male and one female. They both kept asking what was that and then say okay then ask again the same question. Our order kept changing on the screen and we would say um...we said tator tots with chili cheese. I ordered a hamburger meaning no cheese, no onions and mustard instead mayo. When we got our ordered I made sure to request the receipt because I had a feeling something was not right due to the continually changing voice/person. As I guessed it, my hamburger had cheese on it; was the junior size burger and only had pickles on it. I pushed the button and let them know that they got my order wrong. Our carhop came out with another female and I let them know the mix up. I even said I will pay the difference because I know the bigger size costs more. I'm unsure why the female came out because she didn't even say anything, she was standing there with a salty look on her face like I'm the one who got my order wrong. Our carhop was "remorseful" and said sorry and took it back in. When he came back again the 3rd time he brought me another same size burger this time with just mustard and a hamburger patty on it, I even paid the extra for something. By this time my partner came back from using the restroom and he sees that they gave him fries with chili cheese not tator tots. We stopped him before he left and told him about the tots and my burger, yet again. I was still being very patient. I showed him the picture of the size of hamburger I wanted and said with no onions and mustard instead of mayo. He shook his head like he got it and said he was sorry again. The 4th time he came back, my burger was the regular size but only had a patty and mustard by this time I said forget it. At least the rest of my family got what they wanted. I gave 2 stars because of the name and my cherry limeade was good. If your choosing to be in a service industry, please don't take it out on the customers. Maybe the service industry is...
