Sal's Tailor Shop & Tuxedos — Local services in Hillsborough Township

They are SO EXPENSIVE!!!??? The $23 dress I brought them, cost $85 to alter (shorten the hem, take in the bodice and shorten the straps). Why is this place so expensive, yet they tell me they are the most reasonable in the area?? I'm not too sure about that?? The estimate started at $65, which was doable, but then I get a call that they forgot to include the $20 charge to shorten the straps. Really...I should have just did that myself?? Then I get there, and there are 4 dark spots down the back seam of the dress, apparently from the chalk that should have come out when it was cleaned. I honestly don't think they even cleaned it! That should have come out if they did, correct?? They steamed them out while I was there, but still...pay attention to these details before it is picked up. Don't make me wait. Just some words of advice for the future. Also, you really need to lower your prices. I realize sewing is time consuming work, but $20 to shorten spaghetti straps?? That's ridiculous??? Don't think I'll be coming back here...

This place is pricey, which would be fine if the work was done well but their attention to detail is seriously lacking as is their customer service and professionalism. They do not complete work as agreed and when the work misses the mark, they tell the customer "it's good enough". The customer's requests and opinions are rudely dismissed. Use caution if taking a special-occasion dress there if it has to be right. I have taken three special-occasion dresses there for one-time events. There were mistakes made and details missed on all three, despite the high price (which they don't tell you until the work is done).
