Do not enter the store if you are not of Caucasian decent!!!

My eyes caught some sneakers that are displayed in the front window so I went with my daughter and husband. There was another customer in there who just got out of the dressing area receiving positive and cheerful comments. Both sales associates were very pleasant to her. Since I carried my daughter who was about to fall asleep I asked my husband if he could inquire if they had the sneaker in a size EU 36. Oh boy that demeanor of the heavier set sales associate changed! Cold and rude she snapped saying that this is a size 6, which I confirmed to my husband. He added, kindly what the return policy is since he already knew that I wouldn't be able to try them on in the store, given I carried my half asleep daughter. In a condescending tone we were told that we can only return via store credit. Check out was cold and unpleasant. Amusing that the heavier set sales associate seemed so pleasant to the Caucasian appearing customer but not to us. I always felt that the Hinsdale community is rather diverse in respect to suburban communities but it was evident that some of the quiet parts are still very loud and obvious. I normally don’t do any reviews but I felt compelled to write this one. I moved to Hinsdale a few months ago and walked downtown and decided to stop and go into this shop. I was ignored and never greeted hello or goodbye. I was never asked if they could help me etc. I think you can get the picture Very unwelcoming for a local shop I walked out feeling that I would never walk in this shop nor give them my business or anyone else that I know. Service and respect are so important these days when we own a business. I own a few businesses and if I treated my customers like this then I wouldn’t have any customers.
