I visited MARCUS today with my two daughters. First, none of the workers wore masks at any point while everyone else is required to. Secondly, one of the attendants made us feel very uncomfortable. I am a woman of color and the moment I approached the jewelry counter, and without me asking, she told me that several pieces are vintage Chanel and come from Paris. Then she mentioned another high-end designer they have and how the pieces are made of gold and real stones. I am the owner of Expression Gallery which is two doors down from Marcus. Their dumpster is located behind my business. Today June 6th I went to Marcus to discuss the ongoing problem of Marcus' trash taking over the alley and blocking our back door for over the last two weeks. I spoke with Brenda the manager and I have never experienced someone so rude and arrogant towards me. That behavior is not the behavior of a professional person. When I asked if Brenda called the trash removal company. She said she called three times but she would not tell me the results, or when this problem would be resolved. Molly always makes me feel welcome and appreciated. She helped me design my living room by helping decorate the shelves, she brought over all kinds of blown glass, vases, artwork, sculpture, frames, crystals, book ends and coffee table books. 6 large shelves look amazing and she was generous with her time. Molly personally helps me also when I shop for clothes in store and brings all kinds of items for me to try on.
