Gezellig Home and Garden — Local services in Holland

I love this store, but there is a woman who works here who has made me uncomfortable on several occasions. She has insinuated that I am shoplifting. My observation of this person is similar to the person others have mentioned here in reviews; therefore, I suspect it is the same person. It upsets me because I like the store but now I don’t want to shop there because of how this woman treats me. I’m a local, own a home within walking distance of downtown, and want to support our locally owned businesses. It’s interesting to read that other people have had similar experiences. I intend to find out the name of this employee and let the owner know.

UPDATE: I emailed the store to let them know what had happened. They responded by scolding me for leaving a bad review and saying that I was at fault because I didn’t understand how retail employees behave....

I went into this store with my friend and found a pretty hair clip that I was going to buy, while still browsing for other items the women working at the desk came up and told me that I wasn’t allowed to carry items around the shop and that she would hold it for me up at the counter. I usually wouldn’t care so much if it wasn’t for the fact that her tone wasn’t so passive aggressive and that other costumers were carrying around their items. She then proceeded to stare at my friend and I while we were just trying to enjoy our time in the store which made us feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome since we’re both young girls. I’d love to go into this shop again since it was very cute and had lots of things I love to buy but this experience makes me not want to...

This is just one of those places you like to go to or return to just to see what’s new, what’s cute, what’s in season. The whole staff is friendly and helpful and such a pleasure to chat with.

Even though I’m not a craft person I have family and friends who are and this is a go-to for a quick gift.
