TLDR: I enjoyed my food and drinks- the rest of my party thought it was just ok- but I thought it was good! The service was great! We didn’t tell the server that it was my uncle’s birthday, but he overheard me saying happy birthday to him, and brought a free celebratory dessert with a sparkler and played the birthday song! It was unexpected and extra, and I would’ve loved it if it were for me . The atmosphere was good too.
It was decently busy when we went to celebrate my uncle’s birthday in October of last year- hence the fall stuff in this review 🤣.
My bf and I ordered the Fall Drink )Apple Cider, carmel, whipped cream, Cinnamon) and very much enjoyed it, so if they do it again next year, I’d highly recommend trying it.
My party ordered the LOADED NACHOS (TOTOPOS, QUESO DIP, CHOICE OF ASADA, TINGA, PASTOR ,CHORIZO OR VEGETARIAN, PICO DE GALLO, QUESO FRESCO, CREMA) and I had a chip on the side without meat lol. They were pretty good, but we didn’t finish them because we ordered too much food 🥲.
We ordered the quesabirria tacos ( SLOW COOKED BEEF IN A BROTH SERVED ON A TORTILLA WITH MELTED CHEESE TOPPED WITH CILANTRO AND ONION. SIDE OF CONSOME) and it was reported back to me as being “ok”. Like I said, my party didn’t love the food here, but it looked good to me!
I ordered the TACO PESCADO (GRILLED TILAPIA, SHREDDED CABBAGE, PICO DE GALLO, CHIPOTLE CREMA) and TACO CAMARON (GRILLED SHRIMP, SHREDDED CABBAGE, PICO DE GALLO, CILANTRO) and thought they were both good, but preferred the pescado over the Cameron.
I wanted everything so I ordered another drink- AGUA FRESCA (FRESH FRUIT WATER MADE WITH NATURAL FRUIT ASK FOR THE FLAVORS OF THE DAY) and the flavor of the day was Piña and it was super duper sweet but absolutely delicious.
Again, because I want everything 😅, I ordered the Arroz con Leche (served warm. Sweet, rich and creamy rice with milk and cinammon) and it was everything I dreamed it would be. Nostalgic hints of childhood breakfast time and fall/wintertime coziness.
Finally, our server brought out a surprise dessert sorbet with chile for my uncle on his birthday! I loved it- he doesn’t love attention so it was a bit much for him, as the music was loud and the sparkler was SPARKLING ✨💥 ✨, but if you know someone who likes to be celebrated, this it definitely the place for that! 🎉 🎊 🙌
Overall I liked this place. Will most likely return if...
Read moreLIZA..Attitude, poor service❗ The only Reason there's 2 Star burrito was good ( dry and not made the way we asked). Lunch for 2 ppl $50 way overpriced❗ LIZA was horrible ((everyone has a bad day, next time just stay Home❗), busy chit chatting while we waited to place the order, upon coming to the table, she asked if we had any questions (10 min sitting, no drinks, no chips, no salsa), we Said we are ready to order. Her statement ( RUDE AND SNOTTY), WOW that was fast❓ Wife ordered burrito without the cilantro mix and no onions, my burrito I asked for no onions in the burrito, raw chopped onions in a cup in the side, I even gave a description of how many I wanted.. Not in a little cup, I would like them in bigger cup. We also ordered chips and mild salsa while we wait❓ We watched her walk around chit chat, drink pop, eat some food, easily 10 min passed. I waved her down, after she made eye contact a couple times. I asked where are our chips and salsa❓❓❓❓ She said well chips are $3 extra, we Said YES and....... We get the Damn chips with our meal❗❗ Salsa DRY, just chopped dry tomatoes , cilantra, onions.... Nothing Else. Burritos where WRONG, WIFE'S HAD ONIONS, MINE HAD ONIONS, NO CUP OF RAW ONIONS ❗❓❗ Burritos WHERE DRY, I MEAN DRY, Hard to eat with all the dough they where wrapped in❗ They did tater good after we picked the onions OUT ❗
Had to get the attention AGAIN, of waitress❗ I stated, there are onions in my burrito, I did not get any in the side❓❓ LIZA STILLWITH ATTITUDE voice she Said, "Well they added to the burrito " I Said, THAT'S NOT WHAT I ASKED FOR❗ We also mentioned how DRY the burritos are, she told my wife, would be less dry if you had the cilantro mixture in because there's tomatoes❓ What The... My recommendation... If money is not an option for lunch... If you have lots of spare time... Enjoy food prepared NOT the way you ask... Do NOT get waited on by LIZA.. Instead wait and ask for ALEX, she cared about her customers, we watched her making her customers feel WELCOME❗❗❗
WE WILL NOT EVER GO...
Read moreI came in by myself about an hour before closing time, expecting four others in my party to arrive shortly. While I was waiting, the gracious owner Patricia offered me a free pastor taco and arroz con leche, completely unprompted! She didn’t have to do that at all, but I very much appreciated and accepted her offer. Both were very good!
By the time the rest of my party was about to arrive, it was already about 20-25 mins before closing time. I did not want to be ”that guy” who stays past closing time, so I ordered some tacos to go so that me and my party can share amongst ourselves so we don’t burden the restaurant staff past normal business hours.
But only a few minutes after I placed the to-go order, the rest of my party arrived. At this point it was about 15 mins until closing time. However Patricia INSISTED that we stay! She was super accommodating and made us feel welcomed and comfortable. We ordered some more food, a burrito for each of us. While we were waiting, Patricia again, completely unprompted, offered even more free food to us! This time it was a mango sorbet sprinkled with tajin. We all enjoyed it while we waited for the rest of our food. We all got our burritos, but none of us could finish more than half of it, which goes to show that the staff do not skimp out on their portions, not one bit. We all enjoyed our burritos very much.
All that to say:
10/10 service, 10/10 ambiance, 10/10 taste, and 10/10 kindness of the restaurant staff. Thank you again to Patricia and the rest of the staff for going above and beyond to make us feel welcomed! We will...
