I wanted to buy and support local business so I came to Holland to do my Holiday shopping. I live in Grand Rapids and I am not able to visit Holland often but wanted to support their retail stores. I made 2 trips to return to 2 scarves. I purchased them as gifts for clients ( very specific purchases) and I realized that I over bought. The first time they were not open ( my mistake for not checking hours) . The next weekend was a blinding snow storm so I could not make it. Traveling for work and the flu yet delayed my trip. I finally made the trip today and they said I missed the return window. Ok that was my fault for not reading the details, but they would not even return for credit. That is ridiculous. I was off 7 days. In my opinion ,this is not good customer service. Especially during a time that public shopping is not that easy. I was told “ to hold onto until next year and give as gifts.” Just to qualify, I owned stores in Grand Rapids and Holland for 16 years. Read moreI was very disappointed with my experience at the Holland store. I purchased some items by phone & when they didn't fit - the store refused to take them back - 3 days later. I was never informed of this policy and both the owner and manager would not budge. The owner was actually quite rude and informed me that boutiques do not except returns. I do not consider their store to be a boutique as most of their items I have seen elsewhere but the owner was quite arrogant and didn't show any customer service protocol at all. If anything - a boutique - should be more customer oriented not less. Would not waste my time shopping at this very blah...
Read moreI have been to this store on several occasions. Staff is always especially nice and friendly. The acknowledge when you walk in and allow you time to browse and check back on you. Offer you a nice coffee and/or water. They have a wide variety of items for you and the home including nice jewelry and devotional journals and books. The customer service is A1 and that is really a lost art. Everyone is genuinely friendly and welcoming. Keep up the great work!
