My husband and I visited this place for the first time on a Saturday night and we had sooo much FUN!! The Decor reflected the African themed vibes. Seating was available all around plus a good sized dance floor. Bathrooms were also clean and stocked on a Saturday night, that was definitely a great surprise. 🙂 The Food was good. I loved the variety that was offered. From Ghanian, to Nigerian, to Haitian, to American food options were all available on the menu to choose from. I would suggest that they watch the temperature though because our meat came a little cold, other than that everything else was at a good temperature properly cooked and ready to eat plus we did not have to wait long for our food. My husband hand some Jollof rice with Haitian Tasso (fried goat) and I had Kelewele and also Tasso. The shots and drinks were good NOT watered down. The Dj/Hosts and the servers were Top Tier. They were very friendly, constantly checks on you not rushing you either to pay for this or that which we liked very much. The music and energy was fun vibrant and upbeat. They did mix just a little bit of soca, reggae and Konpa very little though mainly African music was played. (Feel like they could mix it up a bit more). Hookah girls kept it going so all in all our overall experience was a 10/10 and we definitely will be going back. Oh, we did spend roughly close to $250 between dinner, shots and hookah, plus we tipped around $50 because we were pleased with...
Read moreCame for dinner. Servers were nice but that’s as far as “service” goes. I post reviews for 1 of two reasons: exceptional service or something on the other end of the spectrum. Firstly , an either 18% OR 20% service charged is auto applied to the bill plus the $5 processing fee on all orders unless you pay cash. Not to complain, but if the service is nearly none existent what’s really being paid for? Servers / waiters converse at the bar as you wait for drinks watered down by the extremely long time it takes to get to you. If you order apps before entrees do not expect your table to be clear of the dirty and used wares. Everything piles up until they are ready to hand over an overpriced bill. On our order included egg rolls, which were subpar with hard rice, calamari fried too hard with a French fry taste to them , shrimps skewers salted beyond recognition, an order of crab cakes completely drenched in their “special sauce” that made it inedible, extra salty lamb chops also inedible oh let’s not forget the meat will be about the size of you thumb and too tough to eat, two orders of wings, lemon pepper and buffalo, also entirely too much sauce and basically about the size of a pinky or thumb. Ultimately I know we all want to support “our businesses “ but frankly they have to be something worth supporting. I guess the...
Read moreCame here for my cousins birthday. I ordered the snapper and diri djon djon and my sister ordered lamb chops and djon djon. When I say everything was terrible! The fish was the size of my hand for $55 and what made it worse is the fish was soooo nasty, so acidic and lacked flavor the rice was so crispy as if they gave me the bottom of the pot and also didn’t have any flavor. Like do y’all know what y’all doing in the kitchen or just experimenting? My sisters lamb was so raw you could hear the animal, her plate was completely taken off the check because the waiter seen for herself as my sister had just taken a bite of the lamb infront of her. I sent my plate back because no way am I paying for something so vile. The waiter offered to bring me a lamb chop platter instead which I agreed. I gave it to my husband and the very next day he had the runs! Why are Nigerians trying to make Haitian food anyway??? Please either get a Haitian to cook authentic Haitian food or stick to Nigerian dishes I’ve been coming to this place since it was Chwa lounge! Which had THE best fish I’ve been craving ever since they closed and this place...
