It was a beautiful Saturday. Omg. What a nice day it was. We were staying at a hotel on the Hollywood boardwalk for my spouses birthday weekend. In the morning we had gone out for breakfast and for dinner we had to match the energy and taste with a sprnckle of salsa. I was driving and looking for a spot to land for dinner but it could not be just anywhere. We spotted a few places but the parking situation in this area is tricky. Once we found a secure spot to park we walked by Orale. The ambience seemed to be relaxed and friendly. Most of the tables were full and there was a voice emiting from inside which being adventurous immediately snached our attention. Table for 5 please. A 3, 16, 42, 44, 70 year old. Once seated you can see the drink specials and menu items. The menu is easy to read with pictures of some of the dishes served in the establishment. We ordere a margarita 👍 cause why not if its a Mexican restaurant and i got time today 😎. The service was excellent, the food was flavorful. They sung happy birthday with instruments in a group. Then the performer came by our table and delighted us with a song. I was lucky to stop at this place out of no where. Thank you to the staff there for the great service and work you do. I would definitely recommend y o u stop by and...
Read moreUnless you like being forced to pay for bad service, STAY AWAY! I’m updating my review from “Amazing food, okay-ish service” to reflect the new policy they have that includes adding gratuity to EVERY check. We’ve been coming here for years and know the service is sub-par. But, the food is so delicious that we keep coming back. The last 3 times we’ve visited gratuity has been automatically included in our check. First of all, this is not disclosed on the menu ANYWHERE. So, tonight I finally asked why and apparently a party of 20 people left a server with a 50¢ tip. So now every customer will be subjected to paying gratuity on whatever they order. I was a server for almost a decade so I understand that not being tipped appropriately sucks. But it’s also insulting to patrons to be forced to tip a certain amount. For instance, tonight our gratuity was barely $5, but we were there for over 2 hours. I would have tipped at least double! But, since I was insulted like I wouldn’t have left a tip, I only left what they added to my check for me. The service sucks, and it always has. Maybe instead of forcing people to pay for it, they should re-train the lazy servers so people actually want to tip them.. I suppose we’ll be ordering...
Read moreSuper cute place. The murals and the furniture. Unfortunately the service and food did not live up to the atmosphere. We came in on a weeknight. There were one large table finishing up. And 2 other 4 tops. It appeared to be a relatively slow night with the servers sitting and rolling silverware.
Hostess staff seated us quickly. Chips and salsa came out. Our drink orders put in. Then........crickets for 20 minutes.
Our table ordered multiple items. Somehow every single order was wrong. I understand if you can’t remember every order. That’s what notes are for. What I didn’t appreciate was the questioning of what we ordered. Why would we tell you to make something we didn’t want to eat?
Food came out hot. Just the wrong ones. It’s your average Mexican food, not memorable, or terrible. Unfortunately one of the dishes was extremely salty. We all agreed it was too salty. After sending it back the waiter said that it’s usually salty because of the cheese. My friend had indigestion and bloating for days from this dish.
So it comes down to this place has slow service, a meh meal, and decent atmosphere. You decide if that’s...
