We loved this treasure of a place & the owners/employees were being lovely. They were so welcoming & attentive {masks on the whole time & clearly started all over the store that all should comply with wearing a mask while in their store}. I could get lost in there... a little world of awe & wonder! We had such an enjoyable experience the first time that we just had to go back once more before our visit to Anna Maria Island ended. And again... what a great experience. We found so many great, fun, excellent quality items & spent a relaxing time shopping in this store. I have no experience or knowledge of the previous owners but these ladies, the new Owners since February 2020, are an absolute delight. They even gave us wonderful recommendations of restaurants, neighboring shops & even a great dog park for our pup to enjoy! We followed each suggestion of theirs and were so glad we did! Thank you Sand dolllar team for a magnificent shopping experience, for all of the extra kindness & for spoiling our kids! You truly enhanced our vacation :) looking forward to keeping up with your shop adventures on social media! {side note: the shopping center disguises the kind of shop this is... it’sa hidden gem full of elegance, whimsy, charm & wonder... everything from chic little earrings, to chic & fun entertainment items for the host who likes to take it up a notch with unique cocktail napkins, dinnerware, glassware, coastal chic decor to patio furniture, gifts for every age ... beautiful shells, they even host sand dollar painting for all ages!!!...

Wow wow wow!! What an adorable store! The Original Sandollar is under new ownership (I screamed when I heard it was closing) and it has that same great island vibe and so much more. I am a local and have been shopping at the Sand Dollar since my teens and now shop there with my 11 yr old daughter and 8 yr old son. There are so many unique clothing items, glassware, succulents which was a game changer for us we are succulent crazy, art, rugs, funky hand towels, candles, local painted and made furniture, cool kid stuff so many fun items and even some things for men! I told my husband if you need a gift for me please just go to the Sand Dollar and Julia will help you. The staff is SO friendly and helpful and you know the second you walk in that they appreciate your business and want you there. Such a fun and upbeat shop EVERY time we’re in. Bringing my 63 year old mom in this week because she hasn’t been in years. If you’re a jean short gal you HAVE to get the Bermuda length jean shorts. They fit so well and stretchy and feel like butter. I live in mine. It’s nice to see the staff and customers wearing masks and still making it fun and welcoming to shop. Love this shop. Not tourist tacky but beautiful things. I literally want one of everything. The shop is just as cute as pre-hurricanes. However, prices have sky rocketed to the insane and are to the point where locals (who are trying very hard to support the local businesses since hurricanes Helene and Milton) can no longer afford anything there. Retail is one thing. 25 percent above retail and you've alienated your locals. I've shopped with friends as well as local vacation rental owners that I am working with to restore their rentals and they all said the same. We've all walked out empty handed and found the items online. What a shame. I would hate to see a quality business like this fail and am loathe to post a negative review. However if prices were more reasonable, island residents along with Bradenton locals would LOVE to make this a staple. The buyer knows his or her stuff and this...
