ABC Stores — Local services in Honolulu

Whatever you do do not buy clothes or souvenirs there are market stalls and other off the beaten track stores where you can get much better deals. We shopped here our whole vacation and they tell you to keep your receipts because if you spend over $300 you can get a free T-shirt. We went in with all of our receipts and It was like a 3 ring circus.. 6 staff members got involved they would not give her the ladies shirt that was advertised for free and we ended up having to pay an extra dollar so that my girlfriend could wear a women’s shirt instead of a man’s shirt. On top of that I bought a sandwich... The picture speaks for itself (it was actually more like a sandwich tip) holy deceptive packaging! Thank goodness I had also purchased a seven dollar bag of chips or I would literally be eating paper right now. ABC where is your aloha!? And where is the other 2/3 of...

Walked in at 11:51 to buy beer, as I grabbed it the last yelled out "no alcohol past 11:50". I politely said in a calm voice "no sorry mam past midnight is when sales stop". She yelled out "NO THE LAW IS 11:50!" Knowing she was wrong without saying anything I took a 6 pack off the shelf and started towards the counter. The lady started yelling "NO SALES PAST 11:50!!" Repeatedly at me till I put it down and left, everyone in the store looked at me in shock like I was trying to steal something. ABC should make sure employees know state law and even if it was past sale time for alcohol not act like she did. I've had multiple great encounters at the ABC in the mall next door since I work as a server and get off around midnight normally. Wont return to this store again since competent and respectful employees are...

While the stores often have the same stuff and are well Merched…the big difference is the service and staff attitudes. Most are very friendly and efficient however store 37 was terrible.

Cashed in over $1000 in receipts. Told to wait for another person to help. That person then went on to serve someone else. Eventually we could select gifts. The shirts we picked werent eligible yet the brochure suggested otherwise. Same then for the towels even though the lady said they were.

Only $4 diff for the shirts but we couldnt even pay the cash difference.

We then bought food and the same lazy lady threw away our receipt.

Avoid this store unless you want to be mislead and poorly treated. Didnt hear a single aloha in the 30...
