This has become one of my favorite places to get all kinds of household products and supplies including things for your animals and children and the prices cannot be beaten. I would say at least 75 percent of everything they sell is a $1.75 starting point. They go by a number system bcuz most of their items are written in some form of Japanese dialect and most of the people in Hawaii do not speak the language or are able to understand how their pricing of items works.. Once you've gone there a few times you will be able to figure it out especially with so much help from the staff that walks around to help everyone out. Their staff are highly experienced and are very professional when help people understand their way of pricing items bcuz everything on the packaging is not written in English. But there are 8X10 signs at the top of each shelf breaking down the prices with a amazing system they came up with. It work something like this - Anything with a number under 300 on the product packaging or if there is no number then the price would be only $1.75. Then 300 to 500 would be around $3.00 and so on. I just can't believe the items you can get for only $1.75! Stuff as big as a broom or Dog pee pads, large containers of all sizes. It's like a Walmart in a store on the size of a 7-11 with just about everything you need for indoor or outdoor needs as well as school & office supplies and trust me I can go on and on. Even though they do not have on street parking or parking lot there is a payable lot in the fort Street side on Bishop Street then you would have to walk about 5 minutes. You'd be surprised at a lot of the items they carry that you wouldn't see anywhere else or in any other stores in Hawaii. Some are so amazing and made very well I can walk out with 2 giant bags of items for under $40 where if I bought the same things anywhere else it would have cost me at the least $100 to $150 dollarsNo Shi** you! I just can't get enough of this new place. A few of the workers know be and my service as soon as me ,& my service gig walk through the front door. đŻ% perfect place to shop for any occasion and holiday as well as item you're in need of. Went on a Monday around 330pm and not crowded at all. Probably 2 people in line? Looking for cute Sanrio products and fun kitchen gadgets from Japan. Mary and Frances provided 5 star friendly service. Frances said not much Sanrio products and she brought some from Pearl city location. About 4 shopping baskets were sitting in store window with "Twin star " keychains and "Cinnamonroll" vinyl zipper bags. Very sparse selection. Pearl city store has a much better selection of Daiso Japan products. The makeup section had mostly low end /low price nail polish, eye shadow and accessories (NOT JAPAN) quality-L.A brand kind of like "Wet and Wild" brand products. The policy is "NO REFUNDS OR EXCHANGES" but if its defective you can bring items back. Last night I made the mistake of going on YOUTUBE to look at the top Daiso products. UGH, now I know what to look for. Organization hooks and brackets for kitchen and bathroom -so cool!
Coming back again soon to check out the "necessary" products. Had fun looking at all the stuff I didn't know I needed. LOL ---------------------------update Went back next day to return container that had a crack at top. Sales person came in to train from HILO was 5 star friendly and issued a refund. Met STEVE Hawaii regional manager over seeing soft opening said makeup products are heavily monitored in USA and makeup brought in from mainland instead of japan. Anything going onto skin or ingested is federally regulated in USA. Understandable they want to avoid any possible or potential liability from harmful chemicals. Food products are from mainland and local imports...
