I'm going to keep it simple. I wouldn't recommend this place even tho it pops up on most ads for places to visit. I don't hate anything, but I wouldn't recommend or visit again. It's just the lowest rating I could choose.
I made a reservation 2 months prior to my visit for my honeymoon with my wife. We were greeted with a bubbly and great hostess and there was an amazing live performer. That's where the good ratings stopped.
We were sat next to a wall towards the back corner of the restaurant to where our view was a parking structure. Yes, you can see the city, but that wasn't what I was expecting. It took only a few minutes from a waiter to give us waters and then our waitress came and took our drink orders. 15 minutes later, our first drinks came and then 1 hour later our second drinks came and the drinks were just meh. BTW, there is a 2 hour time period per table. Our waitress was not attentive and would walk to our table, glance towards us and then walk away never asking if we wanted to order another drink or any food. I would try to get her attention and she would look at me and keep walking past.
It took about 30 mins for us to order our food . My wife wanted to tacos, but they told us they were out of them. Shortly after hearing that, we noticed the a couple that came in 20 mins after us received an order of the tacos. So we got the king salmon poke, fries and the Shrimp Risotto. The salmon poke wasn't bad, the fries were just kind of boring and the risotto wasn't worth the price.
The worst part of the experience was when I went to go pay for the tab, the waitress showed me the price of the bill and then said "just go ahead and sign". Not a big deal until I thought about the tip. When I looked at what the tip option was, it was already preselected to 25%. Normally it is not preselected to the highest percentage. So make sure you look out for that if you do decide to visit.
Just keep this in mind, we saw couples walk in, sit down and then walk straight out because they weren't being served. If you are going to go here, go with a big group of 4 or more because you will probably be seated in the main part of the bar. It was cool to be on a rooftop bar, but this place...
Read moreI recently had the unfortunate experience of dining at a SKY that left me utterly disappointed, and I feel compelled to share my thoughts so others don't have to go through this and can save their money. Their menu features a Prime Tomahawk, a dish that turned out to be a far cry from it.
Upon the arrival of the supposed Prime Tomahawk, our excitement quickly turned into disbelief. Instead of the majestic rib-eye steak that we anticipated, what lay before us was nothing more than a mediocre sirloin at best. To add insult to injury, the meat was pre-cut and detached, leaving us questioning whether it was indeed the advertised Prime Tomahawk or a substitution of a lesser cheaper cut, which I'm sure it was a cheap cut of meat.
For a hefty price tag of $160, one would expect to savor the exquisite flavors of a true Prime Tomahawk. Unfortunately, what we received was a blatant misrepresentation, a culinary scam that left our taste buds unsatisfied and our wallet significantly lighter.
The oysters we ordered were good, the sashimi was good. The creme brulee was disgusting, tasted old.
The disappointment didn't end with the food; the service at this establishment was equally lackluster. Our waitress showed minimal interest in our dining experience, rarely checking on us throughout the meal, almost felt like we were forgotten by her. The wait times for each course were excruciatingly long, further dampening the overall dining experience.
However, we must compliment the establishment for one aspect – the atmosphere. The restaurant offers a stunning view that undoubtedly enhances the overall ambiance. Yet, it's disheartening that this positive aspect couldn't compensate for the letdown in the culinary and service departments.
In conclusion, our visit to this restaurant was marred by false advertising, subpar service, and an overall feeling of being deceived. I strongly advise potential diners to think twice before splurging on what is touted as a Prime Tomahawk, as it might just be a sirloin steak in disguise. A truly regrettable dining experience that we won't...
Read moreDining at SKY was like watching a poorly scripted sequel to a beloved classic – full of promise but ultimately disappointing. As someone who relishes the art of a well-prepared meal, I was lured in by the siren song of their Prime Tomahawk, a dish that was more chimera than culinary masterpiece.
The arrival of the “Prime Tomahawk” was our first moment of incredulity. Instead of the anticipated show-stopping rib-eye, we were presented with what appeared to be a lackluster sirloin, pre-cut and detached, a far cry from the advertised prime cut. For $160, I expected an experience, not a culinary bait-and-switch. It was a textbook example of how to make your guests feel swindled.
The oysters and sashimi? Serviceable, though nothing to write home about. The crème brûlée, however, was an affront to dessert lovers everywhere – stale, uninspired, a sugar-coated afterthought.
Adding to the insult was the indifferent service. Our waitress seemed to have perfected the art of neglect, appearing only when absolutely necessary, leaving us to contemplate our food and our life choices in solitude. The long, unforgiving wait times between courses only served to amplify our growing discontent.
Credit where credit is due: the atmosphere at SKY is undeniably enchanting, with a view that tries its best to distract you from the disappointment on your plate. But no amount of scenery can compensate for the profound sense of culinary betrayal we experienced.
In sum, our time at SKY was a sobering reminder that sometimes, the sizzle doesn’t match the steak. A cautionary tale for those tempted by the lure of a Prime Tomahawk – it might just be a sirloin steak in disguise. Save your money and your palate the trouble. This is one dining experience we won’t be...
