The was the best massage!! Upon a coworker recommendation, I made an appointment, for the 120 minute luxury combination, the same day and they said come on over. The building entrance was off the beaten path. Security directed me to take elevator to second floor. The staff was waiting for me at the door. The room is beautiful and they ushered me into the spa experience. Set me up with a rose water foot bath provided me with a bowl of coffee candy and water and a few props (ie lei and maracas) for a photo opportunity. Then they asked for my phone to take the photos. Then removed the photo props, and proceeded with the spa experience, first was the foot scrub and then slippers. Took me to the massage room where I was provided disposable undergarments and then experienced and enjoyed a warm salt scrub. (Do not have a fresh sunburn or shave legs before this salt scrub massage, i imagine that would be most painful and uncomfortable). After the salt scrub experience, she slipped plastic booties onto my feet and escorted me to the warm shower to remove the salt scrub and oil. I removed the plastic booties before getting into the shower (i was already slipping and sliding and i was not gonna take that risk). So i soaped up the feet first took a rinse off shower and then wrapped myself up in the towel. She told me face down. She covered me with a sheet and removed the towel and proceeded with the massage. It was a blend of wonderful techniques, (shiatsu, ashiatsu, lomi lomi, deep tissue) the ashiatsu is a technique i had not experienced before. So i was a bit surprised when she jumped on the bed and started lightly standing on my back and other body parts such as hands, feet and legs, arms. It was interesting for sure but enjoyable. Then when i was asked to turn over for the front massage, she started the mini facial. This facial was awesome!! (2nd facial in my 50 year old lifetime). The experience just keeps going…After she applied the additional cost add on mask, she asked first. I agreed. She put the full face paper towel type mask and then the clay mask on that…over my face and then put on a red Light (i couldn’t see anything). Then she started her room clean up. Then she cMe back and massaged my legs and arms. ( i was pleasantly surprised, since i thought the massage portion had ended). Then the lights turned off and then she removed the lights and paper towel type mask. Cleaned my face again and added some creams and extras. She completed the experience with more neck massage and stretching. It was awesome and i didnt even get my therapist name so i could thank her properly for a job well done.
FEEDBACK and suggestions for the Waikiki Wind spa: Ensure that the therapist introduce themselves and then provide a verbal description of what is going to happen during the purchased session and in the order of how the therapy works. If language is a barrier, maybe provide a card of events and times that the experience will include. I did enjoy the massage. I also had a few moments of not being able to breathe during the ashiatsu and mask portion of the treatment…i have mild claustrophobia and i had to talk myself through the portions when i was being stepped on and the full mask went...

taking off 3 stars. 1.5 stars for not contacting me prior to the appointment to tell me what I booked wasn’t available. Also for trying to convince me to change it without directly telling us that it wasn’t available. For example, we sat down and they asked “Thai or combination” we said “Thai” then she asked “with stepping on the back or just stretching?” We said with the walking on our backs. Then she said the Thai massage therapist wasn’t available.
They should have let me shorten the time booked, but I was hoping to still get a quality 2 hour massage. I was told we would get a combination massage instead but I still don’t know what we got a combination of. The owner (I think) offered to include a scent which sounded like it’s usually at an additional cost, but I couldn’t tell if he added it or not. Other spas usually rub some in their hands and let you inhale the scent for aromatherapy.
1.5 stars because it was probably THEE worst massage of my life. I spent half of it wishing for it to be over. It was also just very weird around my collarbone and on my head like I was being poked as if I was a piece of focaccia. The stretching was very weird and low effort (pushing my arm and legs in a way that they thought was stretching but wasn’t anything) I don’t think my person knew what they were doing at all. Normally when I’m asked to flip over, they open one side of the blanket so I can easily turn. He closed every curtain and left me to maneuver between the heavy blanket and the disposable mattress covers they have. I was sweating like a sauna and not in a comfortable way. It was suffocating like I was overheating and couldn’t ever be comfortable.
I truthfully wanted to cry a couple of times throughout the massage. Maybe would’ve been better if they didn’t try to attempt a “Thai massage” at all. The pressure was all in their fingertips and not with the palms of their hands enough. This happened yesterday and my husband I are STILL sore. Not a kind of sore of muscle recovery as much as my legs felt like cement and my back was so sore it hurt to put sunblock on. In the end, I was able to jump out of the bed as soon as they exclaimed “Ok! Massage is over!” — far from the the usual struggle of trying to wake up from a relaxing slumber.
I was trying to be nice but I had to ask them to skip parts of the massage that they clearly didn’t know what to do. I’m very upset I wasted the money and wouldn’t recommend this place for Thai or a combination massage.
Only pros: the therapist paid attention the the areas I circled on the form. And it was roughly the full 2 hours take away a few minutes that they spent setting up in the beginning.
FYI: rooms are not private, everything is separated by curtains.
Original Dec 2022: Was able to make a last minute appointment. Moon gave a great Thai massage. Very deep pressure but listened to my request to change to lighter pressure. It got too light but again listened to my request for more pressure. I didn’t make it easy but I highly recommend Moon’s service and this place. I hope to...
Read moreI am shocked by the high reviews for this location. My mother called ahead to make a reservation for Mother’s Day for her and myself. She requested 2 hour massages for both of us, separately. Over the phone, they offered a $100 facial (1 hour) Mother’s Day special. She added that service on for both of us. When we arrived, they confirmed that it would be 3 hours of services for both of us. When we were led to our room, it was a combined room as though we were having a couple’s massage. Not a huge issue, but unexpected. We were not alerted to other people receiving services right next to us with only a thin curtain between us. Neither of our masseuses asked us what areas we would like to focus on or anywhere we didn’t want to be touched, no introduction, and there was no conversation regarding what type of massage we would like. My masseuse was particularly rough and stood on my back for the majority of the first hour, digging her heels into my spine. I had a hard time breathing. Both of us put our hair up, they covered our heads with towels which kept falling off, and when the towels fell they would rub the oil into our hair. Halfway through the massage, they started the facials. The machines rolled in and people were moving around and suddenly we were receiving the back end of our massages and facials at the same time - very distracting and not relaxing at all. Mind you, this was after they had already confirmed that the massage and facial would be separate. The facial lacked detail or conversation as well, and was mostly a face cleaning with massage. We finished all services within 2 hours and it was not restful. The staff lacked any sense of hospitality as we were rushed out without even a confirmation of how we felt about our experience, or a “happy mother’s day.” My mom works very hard and I was disappointed in this. I don’t know if they were busy or overbooked, as 6 or 7 staff members were all out in the hallway as they ushered us into the elevator. A few other things as some other reviews mentioned: no temperature regulation, very warm rooms rooms are not private music is not particularly relaxing, piano covers of pop music on a loop my mom was asked to lay on a paper/hygienic layer between her and the sheet on the table, making it quite hot and she is having a skin reaction afterwards. I was laying on a sheet. I have never heard of a massage place doing such a thing
I hate leaving negative reviews but this experience left us feeling ripped off and not relaxed. My back hurts more than...
