I've wanted to try lash extensions for years as I've seen all these girls walk by with long beautiful lashes. I gave in last year before the holidays and just like that made an appointment to pop my eyelash extension cherry. The holidays were coming and I was just going to get it once to try...wrong!
They have a parking lot but parking can be challenging depending on your appointment time since it's in the same building as a crossfit box.
I was a bit nervous when I went into the consultation but Shantel was really friendly and went over all my options and answered my questions thoroughly. We talked about my day to day and what kind of exercise I do and lash maintenance. Plan your first set accordingly because you can't get the lashes wet for 24 hours so that the glue can set properly. She also advised that a lot of her clients have active lifestyles and they went back to regular activities after about 48 hours.
There were more options than I thought. You could choose from various types of lashes depending on the length of the lash to how they are placed and the type of curl. I went for the ready to wear and D curl based on her recommendations which costed $150. I wanted it to be noticeable but not too full and totally fake looking.
They said that my initial ready to wear set could take up to 1.5-2 hours. It took almost 2 hours for my set. Shantel said some people take a nap but I couldn't. I was relaxed laying there but I couldn't sleep since I could feel the light tugs on my lashes. When she told me to look in the mirror, I was shocked. I would say I have decent healthy lashes but with these extensions, they really highlighted my eyes. The length and volume were a bit overwhelming at first but that's probably because I wasn't used to it. My friend and coworkers immediately noticed the difference and I got a lot of compliments. I don't usually wear makeup a lot unless it's a special occasion but with the lashes, people thought I had makeup on!
I really liked them, but for the first few days my eye did burn a bit but I wasn't sure why. The other thing was a bunch fell out after a couple of days and I freaked out. Every time one fell out, I was like that was $5!!! I knew something was wrong so I called to explain what happened and made an appointment. I went back and explained to Shantel how they kept falling out, I didn't get them wet or did anything strenuous. She was understanding and refilled them and explained to me that maybe my lashes were cycling. The normal growth cycle of natural eyelashes is typically six to eight weeks. Since each lash extension is attached to a single eyelash, they will fall out naturally along with the natural growth cycle of each lash. This must have been why so much fell out in a short span of time. She was also really nice and didn't charge me anything for the refill.
The lashes stayed much better this time and my eyes didn't burn anymore. Unfortunately I got addicted. I loved how they felt and decided to keep my relash appointment. They recommend a relash every three to four weeks. The great thing also is that they have evening and weekend appointments which helps people like me who work in the day and can't get there until later.
I scheduled my relash appointment 3 weeks later. This time my appointment was with Leigh. Leigh was also very nice and friendly. I was more comfortable with my lashes so I got more lashes so I could maintain a fuller look for a longer period of time. My relash was about $75 but the price can vary depending on the lashes you got and how much of a refill you need.
Don't wait too long for a relash, if your eyelash extensions are too bare, you may need a whole new set and you'll be charged the new set fee. While you may be trying to save money, it will cost you more in the end. The lashes that they use look and feel natural. Although it is a bit pricey, I definitely recommend coming here. The lash artists here are great and you'll look amazing. They definitely work with you to help you get the look you want and help you feel...
Read moreThe best service and lashes. My lashes are damaged from using the quick cheap glues in the past. Lenore was my technician. Kristin the owner reassured me of the process and getting healthy lashes again was possible. I felt cared for as a unique bio-individual. The reputation superceeds Kristin Wood Lashes. I am so happy I treated myself for some postpartum mama care. I am loving how the lashes look and feel. I will definitely return. My technichian Lenore gave me a followup 3 days later to tweak a few things as my lashes could not hold the weight of the extensions. They will work with you until you are satisfied. We were able to find my natural fit. (design) I have a c curl and design lashes. I didn't go full or couture as it was too heavy. I am excited to refill my lashes and gain healthy growth in the process. 5 stars for sure.🌺💯🤙🏼 Supporting local
