I’m editing my review of Hobby Lobby today, October 1, 2024. I wondered around the whole store and bought a number of things I needed. They were actually out of what I went in there for though they had many different varieties. I wanted candy melts in white. The only white one they had was flavored mint, which was not going to work With what I was making however I decided since I’ve never worked with Candy melts I would pick them up and two packages of the pink vanilla flavored. There’s a big sign out at the end as advertised $2.57. It covers the whole rack I don’t know about you but when it’s the whole rack and they’re the same items I generally don’t squint down and dig out my reading glasses to read the nonsense on the sign Anyway I went up to the register to pay and she rang up the white ones 359 or 399. I don’t recall which. But I said those are $2.57 so the girl looks it up and doesn’t see it in her ad why something has to be in the ad is beyond me since the price on the packaging of the ones that I was getting the pink ones said 257. I didn’t even look any further than that. I just grab white and two pink Well then the assistant manager or manager for Customer Service comes up and she looks it up on her iPad and says nope it’s the price that’s on it so I said would you like me to walk back and take a picture of the sign so I walk all the way to the back of the store take a picture come up. They enlarge my picture and say oh look right here. It has an exception on it . You shouldn’t be writing an exception when it’s covering the entire thing of the same item. I said they should take the sign down or move the items and separate them because this is false advertising. No, it’s not they tell me because it says it right here in this tiny little writing. Well, I have to say I’ve never been so annoyed in my life , I shop in Hobby Lobby a lot I probably spend $5000 a year in there. I know that’s excessive, but I loved the store. After being treated like this for a dollar I am just blown away by how poorly it was handled and I didn’t buy the white mint ones and I was walking out the store and the woman that had helped me with her little iPad honestly she should be fired. She’s rude but nonetheless she says to me as I’m walking out you don’t wanna talk to the store manager I’m like no I’m done. I bought this. I’m never coming back so I will never be back .

Read moreThe level of preparation by the staff is absolutely minimal in this store. I went in looking for a pretty simple item, and because this store is gigantic, I asked the first couple of employees I saw. One gave me a sideways crooked stare as if he didn't understand the actual words I was saying and then just said "we don't carry that". A second employee a few moments later rolled her eyes at me as though I were some kind of an idiot for even asking, and she just as quickly dismissed me suggesting that they don't sell those things "anymore". I tried a third employee, he gave me a bewildered look and at least was honest and saying simply "uuuuuh, I have no idea. Sorry." And went back about his business. Finally, came across an older associate who similarly looked displeased when I said "excuse me Miss" as though helping a customer was a very unusual occurrence for her. She cut me off in the middle of asking my question and said "I seriously doubt we have anything like that, but if we did it would be over there somewhere" and she pointed in a very general direction towards 14 different aisles. I ended up just searching row by row and eventually found a rather large amount and a variety of the thing I was looking for.
In terms of the amount of items they have, this store is actually very good. But from a customer service perspective, I was extremely unimpressed and honestly, I think I will just stick to Michaels...
Read more11:00 AM on Saturday, December 3rd and lines at registers stretching 3/4 to back of store. Only 2 registers open and company policy of not using bar codes to speed up the check out process on shopping carts full of low rent trash made in China is truly making holiday shopping experience joyful . So no manager has the sense to jump on a register to provide relief? And to top it off more and more premium brand products being replaced by store brand garbage. It is profound how little Hobby Lobby corp. cares about their customers. Am I a blow hard wasting my time writing this review? …maybe if I didn’t have so much time to kill standing in line .
….so two years later I try again. No improvement and a total waste of time . Had apx $150 worth of art supply Christmas gifts in my cart . On a busy Saturday only half the cashiers on duty and it was taking 10 plus minutes for each shopper in front of me to get checked out by that good old manual process that HL Corp feels is so humanizing . With four more shoppers in front of me and already 20 minutes into the Hobby Lobby reality tour I did the math, walked away from my cart, left, drove 15 minutes to Michael’s , purchased 95% of the same Items at the same price and was home 35 minutes AFTER I left HB. Fool me once two years ago shame on you; this...
