I use a wheelchair for mobility. Ollie's has a wheelchair with a basket attachment to the arm rests-quite helpful for wheelchair shoppers. And even if the store is busy, it is not crowded to the point that I am made to feel I am in everybody else's way. Ollie's will also carry my purchases to the car & load them for me. AND the staff even invites me to pull up my car close to the front door to load as the surface right there is more flat than parts of the adjacent parking lot. Same graciousness on tap in inclement weather. I seldom enter the better known "Big Box" stores anymore. Reasons for me to go in Ollie's: Spices. Wide variety of specialty K-cup type coffees. Area rugs galore! Luggage. Kitchen wares, small kitchen appliances. Larger household sweepers. Pet supplies. Huge selection ceramic pottery. Dirt, etc. in season Sheets, Blankets, etc.Toiletries.One corner area carries the "As Seen On TV" items. And, if you cannot find that the item is truly easy to love, it is much easier to return it to Ollie's than return it if purchased from an ad on TV! And most important of all: Good bargains. Discounts. Online ads. Mailers for the big sales. And a discount if you are a "member" of "Ollie's Army." Disclaimer: if you try hard it may be possible to not find what you thought you needed....
Read moreNot all what it's cracked up to be. Some prices are okay but the choices available make it more like a high priced version of Dollar Tree. Too many off brands that you can actually purchase elsewhere at the same or lesser than price. That Their price and ours thing...That too is hype. Being a former merchandise vendor I have gotten the same thing off the warehouse shelves for pennies on the Dollar. Wife spent over 100 dollars and the points we were supposed to get doesn't show up either. Not sure where that glitch is from, if they haven't posted or if the cashier didn't enter them into the system like they said they were going to do. All in all it's okay for some things, but not for an overall great shopping experience. They are very limited in comparison to Big Lots even of which carries closeout high end imported gourmet food brands and items. Other items such as canned good cleaners and furniture Big lots has them beat. Dollar Tree is the other go to that has more to offer and cheaper, hey it's a dollar and theirs, meaning Ollies is way more than the dollar for the same items. As stated some things, but not the overall go to...
Read moreMy husband and I purchased a air conditioning unit, 5/29/18. It was past the return policy, it went out yesterday. I spoke to a customer service and explained to them I didn't want my money back just another unit, and they told me sorry they couldn't help me, this however upset me since the unit was 186.00 purchase. I called back and ask for the company's corporate office number. The store manager Jason spoke to me regarding my options, however sending the unit back for repairs was not something I was willing to do, by the time it was repaired summer would be over. Jason went out of his way and allowed us to exchange the unit, the air conditioning unit was not in stock so we picked another, it cost a little more and we was very thankful for the new unit, and didn't mind paying the extra cost. If you have a good manager, that goes out of his way to help his customers, you have return bissness. Thank you JASON ! Mrs. Sutherland. Ps. He...
