My husband is recovering from successful procedure to drain a subdural hematoma. He is doing great! Walters Tower is a Beautiful building with large rooms with sofa type bed for guest overnight stay. More importantly, the brilliant and caring doctors and nurses were attentive and went the extra mile to care for him! It actually happened that when he was in ICU and I was confused about my husband’s procedure, his nurse asked a neurologist to come to our room to answer my questions. Dr Schwartz came to our room and explained the procedure and patiently answered all of our questions! The nursing staff was efficient, pleasant, professional and caring. They were quick to answer our call and never seemed rushed. Housekeeping was excellent! Vanessa would see a bed leaving the room and rush in to sanitize and mop under the bed ! The culture of the whole hospital is one of helpfulness! Several times, when I had that “lost look” on my face, an employee passing by would ask if they could help. Chad walked with me to the cafeteria and then continued on his way. A very friendly lady walked with me to the Marriott ensuring I saw the entrance before she went on her way. The brilliant Dr. Britz, head of the neurology department, put our minds at ease by speaking of the procedure as if it were child's play. He visited in Pre-Op and after in ICU.
The entire process was very efficient! Wednesday, We began at our PCP office who agreed he was having stroke-like symptoms. They transferred our information to Methodist Emergency on Voss Rd where a CAT scan showed a brain bleed. The ER arranged for my husband to be transferred to Houston Methodist on Fannin only after he was assigned a bed. He was taken directly to his room about 8:30 pm. Shortly, a doctor said he needed surgery"tomorrow". Thursday, He had successful procedure to drain hematoma. The Operating room kept me informed during procedure. Saturday, We came home and I have yet to give anyone a credit card or fill out any financial papers. My husband signed consent form for surgery. Never has it been so hassle-free to be in the hospital! I would rate 1000...
Read moreSo far not liking this hospital the one in Willowbrook is way better. Around 2am my mom started coughing up blood I pushed the button no response I went to the desk and told a nurse it was slow since then. They did an xray and a nose swab at 3am. It's 8:46 still haven't heard from anyone. The night crew are not very caring they make you feel as if they are here just for a check and it doesn't matter what happens to the patient some of the day crew as well. They don't keep the rm clean as they should. I will update later today. Well a little after 10am. Barbara is wonderful she cares about the patients and how her staff treats them. She does her best to slove any problems you may have. The only reason I'm changing from a 1 is because of her and sree he is an awesome nurse. In any hospital you will have some that do and some that don't but as long as they have someone in charge that cares like Ms. Barbara things can change for the better. Had to udate my review today I spoke with AJ who was very rude. He told me I gave you a list of facilities on Tue which is more than other places give you to find somewhere for my mom.He then said she's being discharged today so u need to find somewhere for her I found a place you can send her there. I told him I need to check these places out I'm not going to place her just anywhere. I as him about filing an appeal for her he responded call Medicare. I let him know I would be reaching out to Ms. Barbara and his attitude changed completely. He became very helpful but it shouldn't have come to that you work at a hospital you should be more caring especially for a case worker. Yes AJ is my mother's case worker here at the...
Read moreI just want to start off by saying Melissa was my nurse at night in PACU on 06/14/25. Her care for me is indescribable. She embodies everything you would want and more for a nurse and what this field is missing terribly in the times now. Her advocacy, patience, compassion, skills were so peaceful. I felt safe with her. I’m happy I was able to hold her hand and let her know I appreciated her tremendously. Melissa if you’re reading this, bless you and thank you for treating me and my family with such kindness going above and beyond! I will never ever forget you! My preop nurses also on that day were so kind and supportive. They also made my family feel welcomed. On 05/30/25, my PACU nurse Marisol was absolutely amazing! It blew my mind how much she went above and beyond for me that night. I will never forget you! Nursing is definitely your calling. Also Annamarie? I believe that’s how you spell it. Pardon if it’s not correct. And my surgeon Dr. Peden, he’s a quiet and gentle soul. He works so hard and I admire and appreciate his skills and work ethic. Thank you for everything you e...
