I have experience discrimination in the past but not like this time..as an adult, fudge you take it and be a grown up about it..because you realize how ignorant people can be.I understand I really do, but how are we going to truly get past it all if we keep applying such hate. Especially because it was not in our times. And suffering for something I dont do nor did i do..I am a mom of 3.. who works 2 jobs to provide for my teens and when not too tired after work i run errands. Well that day getting off from1st job, went to pick my kiddo from his bus stop and took him to second job with me. Yes sometimes you have to because no other way. I rather take him with me than he having to walk home. Yes matbe overprotecting but thats me. Back to experience. Got off from job at 9:40 pm and he was like we need groceries, and i was ok, Krogers across. So ok. We got what we nerded took us 15 min..when you know u know..ready to check out. When suddenly was out turn and cashier walks to us and at same time a guy approaches us from right side, and she looks at him and ask "sir are you next in line?".. and me and my kid waiting and when he said yes. I was like "no ma am ..we are next , we were behind that couple that just went" and she said sir and gave me a smirk and allowed him to check out..I was awed by the moment, my kid was like what happen..i was like, mmm i dont know son.. and took me a moment to realized what had happen at that moment..my kid was so confused himself.. and decided to leave my basket..that guy only had a water..which if i had seen him in line i would offered for him to move foreward since was only one item.. or maybe two, i had a half full basket.. im telling you 15 minutes was enough time not ime for junk but goods for my kids ,uncertain economic times..no can do.. any who..my heart felt to the ground..not going to lie.. and maybe im a softy..but took my son and walked out.. i took several breaths..once i got home..i just cried..honest to God.. i just cried because one thing is doing such to an adult alone..which is still not okay, but a mom with her son..yea that plain dirty.. i live that on the 17.. last week that was my krogers.. yes briarforest and eldridge but that Was. We already have so much going on in our lives, why be mean or ugly like that. Its sad to see that thats what we are leaving our children with, HATE.. I explain to my kid that maybe she had a bad day or someone must of treated her differently, and his response was "i get it but was not ur fault nor mine..you have always told us we might be different look different but we are persons with value..my skin color its just thats skin color..he hugged me so hard because he did see how it affected me. I know I should of talked to manager on site but thats how bad it was . My kiddos learned from my experienced and asked me to say something. Treat each other with respect , in Gods eyes we are all the...
Read moreUpdate: I went to this Kroger this afternoon, and everything was normal until I got to my car. There, I found a sticker, informing me that my car was about to be towed due to leaving the property. How? I was in the grocery store for the last hour!
Thinking that this was a case of a rogue towing service stepping outside of their lane (as they're known to do), I went back into the store to let the management know so that no one else was affected. I didn't blame the people at Kroger at all, and I made that clear. The floor-level employees got what I was saying right away: If customers' cars are towed while they're shopping, it's bad business. But the manager, Mr. Flores? He was dismissive and rude. He offered to walk with me to my car, and when we were about halfway there and completely out of earshot of other employees, he told me, "You need to take this up with the towing company. This isn't really my problem."
Sorry, but from a branding perspective, having customer cars towed for no reason is 100% your problem as a manager of a shopping center anchor. Further, this attitude lets me know I need to find a new grocery store. Clearly to the management at Kroger, the only thing that counts is money. Not customer retention. Not how their shopping center affects their overall revenue and supply chain management. Anyone who's ever worked in retail knows that shrugging off something like this is a completely bonkers line of reasoning, and it's liable to get you fired. My only conclusion is that Kroger has processes in place to train and hire great floor-level staff, but the management is severely lacking in customer service and business acumen skills. A tow truck trolling for unjustifiable tows affects your overall operations. It's the same thing as someone stealing cars from a lot. The only real difference from a customer perspective is that the towing companies have a logo.
Anyways, since the almighty dollar is what Kroger cares the most about, I'll take my money elsewhere until they clean their management up. The prices have been rising rapidly anyways, so I'm not too upset. I'll miss Scan & Go, but I'll get over that.

As far as grocery stores go, this one is kinda great. It's smaller, but the staff is very friendly and the stock changes out very regularly. I haven't seen anything go bad while on the shelf yet, which is a lot better than many other grocery...
Read moreI just had a terrible experience in the store. I went to get a sandwich from the deli counter about 20 minutes ago I stood there for at least five minutes and neither one of the employees at the counter acknowledged me. (Hispanic/white/Latina ladies in blue cowboys hat and blue shirt and pink shirt) I asked the lady who was cleaning the deli (blue cowboys hat on) if you guys still make sandwiches she said no we haven’t done it for about two years and I was like well so you don’t but you have a menu like there’s a digital menu so you don’t make sandwiches? She responds with a terribly nasty attitude “WELL YOU CAN ASK BOARS HEAD” …. I was totally startled and a little offended.
All I wanted was a sandwich.
I then ask her why neither one of the ladies had even acknowledged me she said well I didn’t know you needed something, I tell her that I’m standing at the deli counter looking at them. She then says “well you could’ve been looking at anything” and I was like well ma’am I’m at the counter like I am a customer she’s been proceeds to start screaming at me as I walk away.
I then go to Customer Service to ask for a manager because I am appalled at the treatment I just received. I wasn’t nasty or anything I just asked if they made sandwiches and why wasn’t I helped. Andy said that a manager wasn’t available and tried to help me after saying snarky comments, I told him I would just contact corporate.
This is the 2nd time I’ve been treated in an ill manner at this store location and I’m over it. (First was a manager (tall Indian/pakistani/brown guy and middle aged white lady who I’m assuming was the gm) who acted as if me returning an item that was bad was a problem) I love Kroger and it’s close to my house but I’ll now go out of my way for better treatment.
The employees at this store from the top down need retraining in customer service and simply being a decent person. It’s really tragic I even have to write this.
Excuse any grammatical errors, I’m typing while a...
