*We visited Sara Appliance Store (10516 Katy Freeway #E, Houston, TX 77043) about a month before we actually purchased our GE Profile double wall ovens. Our salesman, Jeff Newman, had satisfactorily answered all of our questions and and gave us a sale price quote that was in line with other dealers of the same product. We pondered our potential purchase for several weeks and decided to buy, but then looked at the prices and realized that GE had significantly increased their prices. The difference was about $ 1,100 more than the sale price Jeff had quoted us. We went into the store and asked Jeff if he could honor the quoted price. Thankfully, he was able to do that. (You don't get that at chain stores. *We can't review the product because we have barely used it. *We were replacing a 1968 GE double wall oven, so the dimensions of the new ovens were about the same width but 6" taller than the old ovens, so our wall cabinet insert area had to be lengthened. Luckily Jeff chose Alfonso to do the carpentry and installation. Alfonso is the "picky lady's dream installer." He and his crew spent much time marking off and cutting the correct size opening, taking some off the top and some off the bottom to keep the visual proportions as good as it could possibly be. They vacuumed several time during the procedures and left things in order when they were finished. We had a drawer below our old ovens, and Alfonso was even able to shorten the drawer and leave me with space for much of what had been in the previous drawer--a big bonus for us. I would rate Jeff Newman as 5 stars, installer Alfonso however many stars are in the sky, but cannot give a rating on...

Sara's was recommended by friends, the online reviews also looked promising. And it is indeed a nice showroom with good pricing. So the reviews must have been talking about salespeople other than Richard, because unfortunately I’ve had 0 after sales customer service and followup 6 weeks after the initial sale, Calls never returned. Worse, a delivery was scheduled and the salesman didn't call with a delivery window and I had to make the call the day of the delivery. The delivery person showed up 3 hrs. after the window. A wine cooler initially offered turned out to be unavailable, and the salesman offered something else that turned out to be a beverage center. ok - so we’re also at fault for not checking. But this goes back to customer service - we’d asked about a wine cooler and it’s poor for the salesman to have ignored this. So we're looking at an exchange, and I suggested splitting the cost since the fault and the lack of service isn't solely ours. Still waiting to hear back.

9/30 - Update after the wine cooler was delivered. KP and Renoo did make amends, particularly KP who had the leverage to absorb some of the costs that the salesman was unable to. Subsequent deliveries of a fridge, and the wine cooler were on time and the installers inventive in fitting appliances into off center spaces (old house!!). The wine cooler person knocked a piece off the bottom on the counter trim, and left a piece of aluminum foil to cover it. I have requested a better job! Anyway, I have upgraded since the followup from KP...
