I WILL NEVER USE CAR TOYS FOR ANYTHING EVER AGAIN AND WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND ANYONE TO EVER USE THEM FOR ANYTHING!!!
I would be ashamed if I owned or managed a business that returns a customer's vehicle damaged, as they did mine. I took my wife's brand new car to these guys in hopes that they could upgrade the very poor stereo that it shipped with. First off, the gentlemen that built the box did not build the box as described. Now my golf bag will not fit into the trunk without taking the driver out (I even left the golf bag there for fitment at the time the box was built). Had they followed instructions, then it would have fit fine. Car Toys did offer to change this, but I am tired of taking the car to their shop (this would make the 3rd visit). Furthermore, I would not allow them to touch my car ever again. Next up, we decided to try to just upgrade the sub-woofer and leave the factory stereo, as the major complaint was that the car's premium $1400 upgraded sound system had no bass. After installing just a subwoofer and amplifier, it was discovered (after the install) that when the volume is turned up, then the bass is reduced. This means that at low volume, the system had way too much bass. At a higher volume, way too little. We found ourselves constantly having to adjust the gain on the sub amp when we changed the volume. I am surprised these guys did not test this first, as the head installer maintained that this is a common issue. I then came up with the idea to to change out all speakers and have the new speakers run off of an aftermarket amp with the factory head unit. After much tinkering, the guys got the system to sound great. However, they damaged my wife's car in the process. They returned the car with a broken seat belt adjustment switch because they took the panel off and did not install it correctly when putting it back on. IN addition, they broke 9 clips in the driver front door panel, which caused an awful rattle. To repair all of this, we took the car to the dealership. Luckily the dealer was sympathetic and got some things covered under warranty. However, there was no way around having the door clips replaced in the driver front door. The cost to repair the front door was $250 with parts and labor. One would think that taking door panels off and putting them back in is pretty routine for a talented installer. This car uses Chrysler parts, so not like we were talking about having some exotic car worked on. Apparently the installers at this location are not very good at all. My only concern now is that they have broken other clips on other panels, which are yet to rattle. I hope it is not just a matter of time before the rattles begin and the repair...
Read moreWent there 1st time in 2020. Got subwoofer, new speakers, tracking system, front and rear camera installed. Pretty happy with everything, beside the rear camera, the guy, who installed it let the cable literally hang so much, I could hang my tshirt on it. But they worked with me, had to bring it the next day and they fixed it. Went there for second time few weeks back with my other car and wanted a tracking system. I chose the one which according to the box, was suppose to track the car, see the routes the car was driven on, turn on and off the engine, unlock lock the car, let me know if the engine is on and off, if smbd messes with my car and etc. Spent $450 for that product and install. Well out of all of the advertises on the box, the system does only 1 thing and that’s track, where the car is parked and that’s all. Nothing else, even thou the box said it has all the other features.. Came there next day explained to the manager that the box advertises other features and he told me: “ well you wanted tracking system and it does do that.” I told him, I chose this product bc of all the other features this product offers according to the box too and he told me again, it tracks the car that’s what you wanted, if you want the other advertised features, you have to buy the security product we offer for few more 100’s bucks. I got pretty mad so I asked him to remove it and refund me the money. He said ok, but the installation won’t be refunded. After that it got me thinking to spend few more $100’s and get what he told me, but then I told myself, well they don’t stand for the product they sold me with all of the false advertising, then they don’t deserve my business and I won’t give them any extra money ever again. So I did not even call them back bc I’m still so disappointed how shady that place is!!! Anyways to finish the story, I bought a product, which advertises several features on the box, but actually it does not do any of them beside 1. Manager unwilling to admit the mistake that I was not informed the product is a lie. In my opinion, the hurst location is a shady place, liars and I won’t never ever be back. Anybody ever asks me about this place my answer will always and forever be, run from this place… “Good job” car toys bc of few $100, you lost a customer, who buys new cars every 4-5 years and always looking to get upgrades. My first upgrade was almost $3k My second was $450 And my future ones could have been few thousands again, but well I’ll take my business elsewhere. Will...
Read moreI contacted this location on a Wednesday to do a radio install on my truck, the guy told me it would be best to make an appointment and put down a deposit. So the very next day I drove up there made an appointment for Saturday at noon and paid for the radio and the install in full. I asked the gentleman that set up the appointment how long it would take and he responded "2 to 3 hours". So Saturday I arrive at 11:45 a.m.,drop off my truck and at this point I ask the installer how long does he think it will take, he responds "3 hours at least we have had some walk ins come in". I said OK but I did think that it was weird that "walk ins" come before appointments. So my wife and I run some errands around nrh area(we live north of Saginaw) and kill some time, we were hoping that by 4 that they may be finished with the install. So around 3:45 she calls them and their response is "it will be at least a couple of more hours". At this point I was a little irritated but I figured I have come this far may as well wait. So we decide to go home and wait for them to call. Fast forward to 6:45p.m. and I decide to call and see how much longer, well the response I get this time from Justin is it will be 8:30 or 9:00 before it gets done. At this point I'm pretty aggravated so I tell him to cancel it and I will come pick it up. So we drive 30 mins to pick it up, they have it out front ready to pick up, I walk in and Justin is ready to give me my money back. So I ask him if this is a normal thing for someone to wait 9 hours for an install and if so what is the reason for an appointment? He responds with "yes this is normal, and the appointment only guarantee's that it will be done by the end of closing that day. And we try not to give a time to be finished with an install". Well 2 of your guys did just that and then without an apology or any acknowledgement of inconvenience refunds my money. So my question is what's the point of making an appointment? You could have prepared me better in saying that this may take all day or can you drop it off later in the day. I saw the schedule when I made the appointment on Thursday and there was only 3 appointments including me for Saturday. I will never return here, and I recommend to anyone else that they should...
