Dale's Jewelers — Local services in Idaho Falls

This is my first review I have ever done for a company. If you want the short version this place was amazing. They helped me find exactly what I wanted, their price was completive with online which a lot of jewelers couldn’t do. Then they had the ring sized the day it came in and resized it for me because I gave them the wrong size. So even after the sale they have been taking care of us.

For the longer version, my fiancé told me she did not care what the ring was, she just wanted me to pick it out and have it be a surprise. I went to a local jeweler and told him my price range and asked what he had. That wasn’t the greatest experience because I knew nothing about rings and diamonds and it felt like I was being taken advantage of. Later to find out I was going to get ripped off. I spent the next two weeks spending hours doing research on diamonds and their value, learning about the 4Cs, and a lot more. I also looked into how much the actual ring should cost. On top of that I looked into Diamond alternatives, (I spent a lot of time learning in this area) the only ones worth talking about are lab grown diamonds which is the same thing just one is made in the earth and one is made in a lab, then last moissanite (the next best thing if you can’t afford a diamond, its awesome stuff!). I ended up going with the lab grown diamond. So, when I went to look around at different jewelers most won’t even give you the option of a lab grown, moissanite, or any other alternative. Dales on the other hand told me about them without even asking, knowing that I was a college student and might not have a huge budget to work with. Carolyn was the one who helped me find my diamond and she was a huge help. She ordering in different diamonds so I could see the difference, and finding ones for the price and size I wanted, she went all out to help me with everything. When the ring came in they sized it that day for me (my friend got a ring at a different place and it took 2 weeks). When I gave her the ring it turns out I told them the wrong size and had to get it resized for the 2nd time. Once again, the jeweler was there and resized it for me that day for free! Which I think it was really nice because I told them the wrong size at first. I did a lot of shopping around at jewelers and online, with everything I was looking at they got...

We couldn't be happier!! Doug at Dale’s Jewelers went over and beyond our expectations in so many ways...

The hunt for the perfect ring and setting that embraced my fiancé's style and shine was incredibly important to me. I knew it wasn't going to be an easy task. Doug stepped up to the challenge and brought my vision to fruition perfectly. It all started when I sent Doug on a mission, or wild goose chase, looking all over the states and around the globe for the perfect stone to make this ring come to life. I will always remember the day like it was yesterday when I received that call at 12:05 AM; I was wondering who in their right mind could be calling me so late!

Thinking that it might be an emergency, I answered it: low and behold it was Doug! He was in Hong Kong at a jewelry show and he had found the perfect diamond that made the statement that we were looking for. In his excitement over what he had found after months of looking for just the right stone, he forgot all about time zones. I couldn't have been more please to have gotten the call and pictures of the stone so I could give him the thumbs up to purchase it and bring it home! It wasn't till after I proposed that I could tell her the truth: it wasn't really a dream that night like she had thought the next morning when she asked if I was talking to someone about diamonds. We will forever be thankful for his determination and fine craftsmanship that he was able to create and bring to life the perfect ring..

We love stopping at Dale's Jewelers when in Idaho Falls to look at all the gorgeous gemstones and settings on display. We return regularly for cleaning of our wedding rings (as well as a security check to be sure our stones are still set in firmly -- a MUST since I lost my wedding diamond on a vacation about 3 years ago!) Dale's then replaced my diamond with a lovely pick sapphire and beautifully re-sized my ring, as well.

Dale's staff always greets us with smiles. We were in recently and found a beautiful display of multi-colored stone pendants, which we learned were a type of turquoise called "spiny oyster". My husband told me to pick one out, as I am a big fan of turquoise jewelry after living in the desert SW among Zuni and Navajo craftspeople for several years. Beautiful!!

We were surprised at the affordable price of those pieces, as well as many other items they design and sell at Dale's.
