UPDATE: Within 20 minutes of leaving a voicemail and email with Shoe Dept customer service I received a return call from Rachel on NC. She was beyond helpful and kind. She offered a solution and she was also actually able to find a pair of shoes in their system that I was missing that she could ship to me. And afterward she followed up with the store... and it turns out they checked their damages pile and my missing shoe was there after all. I have been so impressed by the upper management and customer service dept of Shoe Dept. especially considering this was 7 pm on a Saturday night. Super impressed.
Original: I have shopped at shoe department here in Idaho Falls for many years. Usually a good experience and have found some great shoes I am happy with. However, this evening after having a very frustrating experience with the assistant manager, I am doubting my opinion of the store. Upon trying to return some shoes this evening he said multiple times he did not believe me and refused service when I was 1: Trying to return a pair of shoes that he said looked worn. That is how I purchased them and I did not wear them outside. I didn’t know what more to do to try to convince him? And 2: Trying to return a pair of shoes that they sold me at back to school time that only had one shoe in the box. Trust me, I actually wanted to keep the shoes and was hopeful the other one will turn up. Upon realizing it was not going to show up at the store I decided to return them. After having previously arranged it with the manager and another employee, knowing I could return the shoe I came to do so and Mark told me no less than 10 times that he did not believe me that I had bought the shoes with one shoe in the box. I tore my house apart, and even returned to the store two different times to see if I could find the matching shoe myself. Talk about rude customer service and embarrassment when he refused to help me return my other two pairs of shoes in front of four other customers. I understand you are new to the store Mark, but clearly a lesson in customer service would go...
Read moreWent in and bought a pair of boots and while they have good selection, the lady at the checkout was somewhat unprofessional with me. I wanted to wear the boots out of the store so I handed her the box and she insisted on sitting on the floor and pulling the tongue of the boots up to check the sizes (yes, while I still had the boots on). I explained to her several times that I had checked the sizes prior to putting them on because I used to work in a shoe store and knew that shoes tend to get jumbled. She sat there digging at my shoes for about 5 minutes checking the sizes instead of just taking my word or looking at the one other pair of boots in the store to make sure mine were two of the same size. I offered several times to just take them off and let her look at them, but she insisted that I could keep them on and she would just dig the tongue out far enough to read the number. Weirdest and most uncomfortable shoe shopping experience...
Read moreI wish I could give them zero stars I mean they have a good shoe collection but the customer service is terrible I ordered shoes for my boyfriend on the 21 of August which was a Friday I get that the order would have been put in on the Monday but when I went in to ask the lady it was the 26 of August she told me to wait on the side until she was done helping everybody else they made me wait 10 minutes even though I had been in line first then she said they wouldn’t be there until maybe the next day so I waited and nothing the shoes are still not there it’s been two weeks now I wanted them for his birthday it’s sad that they don’t tell you when your shoes...
