Barrett Beach Bungalows — Local services in Indian Shores

The good: great location, walking distance to many restaurants and shops.  Steps to ocean.

The bad: cameras everywhere and functional because the Lizard texts u immediately after she suspects u may be breaking one of her many listed or unlisted rules so prepare to be watched 24/7.  Even two quarter sized holes above the shower but did not see a lens.?. no parking - unless u have one car in a unit that holds 10 people, be prepared to find parking elsewhere or u block one another in. units very dated.  Yeah I know the old Florida bungalow theme but that is an excuse here.  Did old Florida bungalows have rust bubbles on the refrigerator and many accessories unfunctional? units are very small. The bathroom is literally 3'x 6'.  There's not even space to dry off once out of the shower unless u straddle the commode. cleaning lady is very rude.  If u don't leave her a tip, expect to get a bad, false review. units are very dark.  Not well lit at all.  In fact, the exposed light bulb in the closet is turned on and off by a worn, frayed yarn...

Extremely disappointed with the treatment my family received on our last vacation. The owner, Liz was outright rude and disrespectful. This was not the first time we had rented from her but I will surely be the last. Rented the 2 bedroom bungalow for the weekend which sleeps 6, according to her listing. Although it rained all weekend long, we decided to keep our booking. Liz flew off the handle and SCREAMED at us in the pool because my sister in law has stopped by and her 3 small children (all under age 9) were in the pool with us. Mind you- they were not staying there, just playing in the pool for about an hour. Babies… yes!! WHO DOES THAT? Why not pull one of us aside and discuss? My husband apologized repeatedly but she continued to berate him over and over again. And even said “this is why I don’t rent to locals” She’s beyond crazy and does not deserve your money. She also lives in the property and has cameras and is constantly snooping on her guests. Save yourself from a horrible experience and Book...

I stayed at the Mermaid Bungalow with a few friends recently. The view is amazing from inside the bungalow, you can see the heated pool and beyond that the beach and ocean. I ate breakfast every morning looking out from the kitchen table and it was so serene. The Mermaid was spacious and had plenty of room for us all to hang out and chill. The couches were super comfy. The bedrooms blocked out most of the light for sleeping late and resting on vacation. I really enjoyed playing Bocci ball, corn hole, and volleyball while chillin on the beach. The lounge chairs were super relaxing and comfy. Liz is amazing! She thinks of everything her guests might want. She was very quick to respond to any needs we had. Her dogs Lager, Nemo, and Punkin were so cute and her place is super dog-friendly. We also enjoyed the fire pit on chilly nights.
