Sharky’s Sea Pub — Restaurant in Indian Shores

I’ll start off by saying I am born and raised in IRB & besides maybe Aqua Prime (now where VIP is) - this is the worst dining experience I’ve had here locally.

Besides corn dog nuggets and clam chowder (thanks Sysco) the food was poor - which was extremely disappointing as I was excited to order the Chicken Riggies. (Very rare to see this on a menu or even know what it is unless you know someone from Utica / upstate NY) A group of us walked into a lively bar as the Bucs game was on & ordered local TBBC Reef Donkey IPA’s in the can. The beers were skunked… After looking at the bottom of the beers, they were canned in mid 2022 - 2 years ago… I understand getting bad food or not liking something but there’s no excuse for that.

I ordered the smoked wings which had a heavy, “dirty smoke” taste to them (for those that smoke foods will know the reference). I also ordered a burger for my main meal that was completely raw - cold inside. They offered to fix it but I declined. Others in the group were planning on trying more food but were turned off by the previous items along with what happened next.. There was a code brown which, to say the least, put the bathroom out of commission… It’s disconcerting when you’re watching a guy with plunger in hand & respirator mask on (restrooms located adjacent to the bar) deal with this unfortunate event. Not a great location for a restroom without a solid door separating restroom area from bar/high top seating. I hope that doesn’t happen to them again & I wish them the best of luck. As of now, there are much better options within...

We are not sure what happened here. We’ve been to Sharky’s three other times and the service and food has been good! However, today (Mother’s Day no less) was a different story. We ordered take out for six people. Our meal included fish with veggies, salads, kabobs, and the steak frites. While waiting for the food we were struck by the music which included several MF bombs. Then, when we got our food back to our condo which is about 5 minutes away we were struck by the steak in the steak frites and the kabobs both of which were burnt to a crisp and the steak frites was not sliced nor did it have the chimichurri sauce. They were almost inedible. Then, my wife was enjoying her fish until she noticed a worm in her food….cooked just like the fish. We are not people to raise a stink but this was the last straw. I went down to try and speak with the manager and brought the burnt food and the wormy fish dish with me (I WISH id snapped a pic.) The manager immediately attempted to blame us suggesting we’d eaten the food somewhere where a worm could crawl in and be cooked. Then he tried to say the worm was actually rice (my wife didn’t have any rice with her order or in her box.) He came back with half of our bill reimbursed and nothing more. We are sad to say we feel we have to call the health department and certainly not dine here again. We aren’t sure if ownership changed hands but it’s not what...

I have been here too many times to count and enjoy the staff, atmosphere and food,a lot. One thing that needs addressed, is in regards to what appears to be the owner. The morale is much higher when he is not around. He brings stress and an unnecessary amount of comments/ noise to the area. I have been in management for many years and would never treat my staff (or anyone) the way I’ve observed him interact. Hitting the food bell an unnecessary amount of times, just to look around to see who is going to run over, while he could easily take it, following staff around, standing and staring instead of assisting and leading by example. He should be worried about quality, not quantity. Customers notice the demeanor and how it affects staff. It’s uncomfortable and very unnecessary. He’s buddy buddy with some customers and those spending money but doesn’t seem to care about his employees, or many patrons,which is terrifying.

Such a cool place! Love the remodel and looking forward to them becoming “the spot” for locals and visitors alike. Great staff, food and my server was super friendly...
