This is the local edition of the Key West original. This chain has three (3) locations (Key West, FL; Indian Shores, FL; and Wantagh, NY).
Visited for lunch the other day. The facility is brand new and very clean. I had the mahi mahi fish and chips. They were very good - but only included five (5) nugget size pieces of fish. It did come with a small side of coleslaw and a huge amount of fries. My wife had the lobster roll. She said it was fantastic and had a good amount of knuckle and claw meat. It came with a small side of coleslaw.
Overall, very good food and nice place to visit. My only critique would be that the pictures they show of their food are false representations (for example, the fish and chips they show has seven (7) nuggets of fish - but you only get five (5) and the lobster roll (while filled nicely) is no where near as full as the pictures they have.
Give the place a try. Its located in the touristy beach area - so its focus is more on tourist...
Read moreThis is a smaller, dine in restaurant. There are about 6 tables inside to eat at. When I arrived all the tables were taken and they seemed busy, but it was still clean and organized. The men's restroom was also very clean and maintained. There were only 2 employees, a male cook and a female working the counter. Husband and wife, I believe. The lady was very friendly and helpful. We ordered 2 lobster rolls and 2 orders of the mahi mahi tacos? I think not, more like burritos. The tacos came with fries and a cup of coleslaw. Each order of tacos comes with 2 and they are good sized pieces of fish. They were fresh, well seasoned and for me a lot of food. Luckily when we were done ordering our food a table became available and we were able to eat there. The lady working the counter took our order and then cleaned the table for us before we sat down. Over all it was a very good experience. I would definitely go back and I would recommend this...
Read moreOkay let’s just start by saying I was here for a week on my honeymoon. We come to the area every year and eat at many many places. This particular week we ate at many of the well known restaurants from Madeira all the way up to almost Clearwater ... mine AND my husband’s favorite place was DJs clam shack. I don’t know how I’ve missed it all the times that I’ve been to the area, however, I will go there every time I come down here now. The clams were phenomenal. I wanted to drink the juice out of the bottom and the jalapeños in them made the flavor so perfect. Next... the clam chowder ... YUM YUM. Comes with the little oyster crackers. Last but not least was the lobster roll.... huge pieces of meat, amazing flavoring, nicely toasted roll.... we made ourselves sick we ate so much. I wish I had it earlier in the week where we could have went back again before we left .. my favorite meal of my entire...
