The location of this resort is excellent, right next door to a fabulous restaurant (Salt Rock Grill) and directly onto the Inter Coastal waterway, the beach also being literally across the road. Unfortunately the accommodation it's self was a little disappointing. The con do was just as the photo's showed, a neutral nautical feel with plenty of areas to relax and a large shower room, small but functional kitchen and an airy bedroom. What the pictures couldn't show was that some of the fixtures, such as both wardrobes were in need of tlc, the fitted door on both were coming off the rails and it was difficult to open and close them. The aircon unit worked fine but was very noisy, as was the fridge in the kitchen. The bedroom floor seemed a bit dirty and I felt the need to brush off me feet before getting into bed. ||The pool area which had looked fairly small on the photos was actually a good size with plenty of sun loungers and tables and chairs to enjoy the amazing Florida weather and the lovely view. The pool rest rooms could do with as more frequent clean as the floor was often dirty. The grounds were clean and there was a number of BBQs available to use with seating areas adjacent to them.||The most disappointing thing for us was that on our last day, having a late flight home we decided to have one more morning around the pool. We checked out, letting the agent know this was our plan, only to be told we would have to move our car out of the parking lot in to a public car park a few blocks down with an hourly fee. As we were travelling at a quiet time of year (the car park at the resort wasn't even a third full) we felt this was poor customer service. The agent gave us the reason that the parking pass needed to be back with them (at 10am) so she could get the new welcome pack ready for the next guest (who couldn't check in until 4pm). She advised there was a chance the car would be towed if we left it on site. Surely she could have provided a visitor pass or had a spare pass we could have used for the 3 hours we staid over? Having travelled extensively around Florida, this was the 1st time we had come across this situation. |Indian Shores is a lovely place to stay, very convenient for both Clearwater and St Petes and with plenty of places to eat, but if we return it will be to a different accommodation. If the place had little tlc and better customer service I would have considered a...
Read moreSo I don't give reviews ever but I want to tell everyone what we experienced at barefoot beach... So we walked into the place and it looked great everything you could ask for for being as cheap as the place was... After looking further we found all the appliances old and cracking .... They told us we were a few steps from the beach... No you are on the other side of the beach which isn't a huge deal but why tell me that if you're not literally on the beach. We also walked into the bathroom to find nats and a few critters... Then they told us that it's sprayed once a month and implied we were lying, also they said it was fully equipped so my girlfriend didn't pack any hair dryers or anything, well the hairdryer didn't work, then we go to take a shower and the hot/cold doesn't work right it goes from freezing to extremely hot to the point I burnt myself, they told me I should have called and they would of had someone come work on it, so on my four day vacation I have to make sure I'm there so someone can come fix what should of been found out before? And fixed before I got there? And as far as location it's not near anything besides one restaurant and a bar that's basically in a house. The bus rolls by once in a while usually atleased a ten min wait and about 20-25 min to get to Clearwater. They also said they could get us discounted Busch gardens tickets, they were more expensive then buying them online from Busch gardens. I confronted them and was willing to give this place a second chance in a couple months cause my family and I travel down there a lot. Instead I got a sorry that's for the " heads up" for the next people. I guess they don't care about the people who would constantly rent a place from them. Words of advice spend the extra 100 or 200 bucks and get a...
Read moreJust got back from a nice relaxing stay at Barefoot Beach Resort; unit 205.
The good points about our unit/resort were: 1.The unit was clean. The staff was very friendly and it was a nice quiet area. There were two bedrooms, three TVs and only one (1) bathroom which had two shower heads, for a fantastic shower!! Also had some beach toys and chairs for enjoyment on the beach. Beach was just across the road. Nice places to eat nearby the resort location was about halfway between Treasure Island and Clearwater beach. We visited both.
The NOT so good things about our unit/resort were: 1.Our unit was not Toddler friendly..immediately upon entering our unit..my 2year old granddaughter injured her upper lip and gum area on one of the clear glass round tables!! :( 2.Lots of items in the unit had to be put out of reach of toddlers. Only (1) one bathroom and no Tub. (but the shower had two shower-heads) 4.The beds were very small (maybe full size) and lumpy Our unit had No balcony or patio area 6.We were Right next to the Road (we could hear traffic from our bedroom) 7.We were awaken by fire alarms going off in our unit in the middle of the night on the first night of our stay...which was not fun at all. This happened 3 times that first night. 8.No children's playground, however there is a mini golf place within walking distance. 9.My husband was surprised by the maintenance man letting himself into our unit while my husband was in the bathroom.....once the man realized that my husband was there, he asked if we had called regarding some sticky drawers......Which we had not! the laundry rooms were small and required quarters only...so be sure to have change. did not...
